    FLEX CORRECTIONS

If any of you are curious to what the FLEX can correct, here are a few pictures of a Corvette a worked on today. The lady asked if would clean her car and of course she opted out of a wax or detail. I’m so tired of all these cheap SOBs! Anyway back to the topic. I am very pleased w/ my FLEX purchase. I’ve only been using it a week now, and I already feel very comfortable w/ it. I’ve used it w/ a variety of pads and many different products. I mainly use Menz SIP and 106, but it works very well w/ all in one products too!

Process: Wash w/ soap via foam gun and white Schmitt
    Dry w/ Guzzler
    SIP x 2 w/ orange pad
    106 w/ white pad
    Collinite 845 w/ red pad

Looks 100x better. Do you have any pictures with the sun shining directly on the corrected part?

These wear the only ones I have. My camera battery was getting low, so I took as many as I could quickly. I'm no photography expert, but I was tring to get the most sun I could. If you worried thinking I trying to hide something, don't be. The flex didn't correct it 100%, but I don't think anything would w/o either wool or wetsanding.

    Nice work!

So the lady opted out of a detail, but you still Flexed the back of her Corvette?

Didnt think you were trying to hide anything. Just trying to get a better idea of how the paint came out with the combo you used. If the Flex corrected that 100% with just SIP and an orange pad then Id be extremely impressed. THATS why I asked.

You could still see some defects, but I think I'm going to try some power gloss next time w/ the LC foamed wool then SIP and 106. I was just curious to see what all it would remove. This car is a real turd! LOL!

PG and foamed wool is a strong combo. Id be interested to see what PG and an orange pad can do?

I was only supposed to do a wash and vac, but after seeing the condition of the car I decided to see what my FLEX could do. She was so impressed she's going to let me finish the car after Christmas, so for now she'll be trying around a Vette w/ decent right half trunk lid. LOL!

    HAHAHA that is awesome!

I should find people with hacked up black cars, ask 'em $50 for a wash 'n wax and only polish out one panel. Then when they feel stupid driving around with only one proper panel, ask them $500 to do the whole thing.

    Thank you for sharing.

Question, did your flex get hot..the housing I mean?

Wow looks way better. That lady is going to want a full detail after seeing only half her trunk looks way better than the rest of her car lol.

It does get hot after using it on speed six for a while, but I don't see any effect on how it corrects. I need to call FLEX and ask them.

I dont think I would do wool and power gloss on a composite car= buffer marks from hell, you will spend more time correcting what you induced than what you started with.

Hey Ashpalt what is composite car? I sure don't want to make any more work for myself. I only used wool once and it was on cheap single stage paint.

corvettes, they are not fiberglass, some bently's, even fiberglass cars will swirls very bad when used with wool and a compound type product. Just an FYI so you dont take two steps back and do more work than needed. steel vehicles no problem with correction.

Cool thanks a ton! Did not realize that wool would do that to a vette. I do truely hate like you say taking two steps back after a process...very frustrating especially when you caused it out of ignorance which is usually my case.

Learned that lesson along time ago, if it isnt steel you need to take a delicate approach, this
end the end will save you a bunch of time. Patience is your friend with these types of vehicles.

Now I haven't done a vet but I have used wool and I know that every time I've used wool I have to do at least two or three stage of polishing. I know some Pro's use wool and can finish LSP but unfortunetly not me..well at least not yet :thumb:

The thing is that sometimes you have to make the vehicle look worse and then work your way back to do paint correction, Kevin Farrel was the one that explained wool techniques to me over the phone. I was blown away with the amount of information he gave me about wool and how it's supposed to use. You are correct Ashpalt Rocket wool will induce buffer marks but the thing is that wool completely flatens the surface and it does an incredable job at doing paint correction.

Just thougth I'd share that's all :thumb:
