Just looking for some advice. Lately I've been reading and absorbing as much as possible(on DB), building my collection of supplies. The one thing I haven't purchased is a premium wax. I have some Autoglym HD wax, but I do want a better wax that will bring out the colour of my car and make it shine. I think I am partial to a wax as my car is not a daily driver. Its always in a heated garage, and what i would like most is to make the paint to pop. I have a 2008 Jaguar XKR Portfolio with Celestial Black (black base with blue flake). I don't take it out if it looks like rain, but sometimes it gets rained on. Winter is coming and it will be in it's warm garage all winter so I have lots of time to polish and wax Price would be anywhere from $50-$500ish From what I read between waxes and sealants it seems to be a pretty personal choice. I guess I'm looking for some feedback from the folks who have used many waxes or sealants. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :worship2:
what you can do is have the best of both worlds. Top a sealant with your favorite wax for maximum durability and looks. If you have a price range like that your options are pretty endless. I personally like: CG 50/50 - the wax goes on like butter and leaves my car looking real nice. The flakes on my car pop pretty good, but in the end it's no the wax/sealant that will necessarily make a world of a difference it is the prep work. Swissvax makes some great waxes as well. Even their entry level waxes are great and run about $85 or you can venture into their middle grade waxes. I also from time to time like to use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and top that with some collinite 845 for the best of both worlds and that also looks great. Hope that helps . . . . .
I'm just like you when it comes to detailing products. My car paint is similar to yours as well. My recent wax/sealant combo is blackfire wet diamond topped with dodo supernatural. This really is a great combo albeit I don't have a vast amount of experience with lsp's..
