I'm pretty stoked about this. A couple of weeks ago I interviewed for a new position with my company as a Category Space Manager, and the hiring manager (Sales Director) called me late this afternoon and offered me the position. Of course I said yes. Start in the new position on April 1st (yeah, I know, April Fool's Day). I think this will be an opportunity to further benefit myself and my company as I've been a little stagnant in my current IT position. I'll be working more with retailers and others in the field sales group of my company, but still with a heavy technology focus. Anyway, thought I'd share.
Good luck with the new position. [The rungs on the ladder of sucess are not for resting on, but are to be used as a means to climbing higher]
Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I was talking with my current manager and today and after some "oh shit you're killing me" I got yesterday, he said that I'm definitely doing the right thing by getting out now. IT in general is getting squeezed harder and harder everyday. I tell ya, it's like the junior varsity team coaches taking over the varsity team ever since November.
congrats. so does this mean you'll get a raise so you'll have more money to spend on detailing supplies?
