Alright was talking to my bro MotorCity on Christmas Eve and he stressed how much I needed to try Duragloss 105. Well I can buy this stuff locally so I decided since he had yet to steer me wrong that I would give it a go. I went and bought the 105 but they didn't have the 601. I know you don't have to have it but I really wanted to try the two together. Well I remembered that there was another parts store about 3-5 miles away that carrried some Duragloss stuff so I went there to see if they had the 601. Well they did :woot: but oddly enough they didn't have the 105 but between the two I got what I wanted. Well I knew I had a red 07 Camry to do today so I was amped to try it out. So amped up that instead of going to bed this morning when I got off of work I went right to detailing! Well here's what I did:

Tires/Wheels: Wheels got ARO on the barrels and SC Beyond Steel on the wheel faces. The tires and wells got Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff. I used my EZ detail brush, Swissvax brush, and black wheel Shmitt. The tires were dressed with Chemical Guys VRP applied with a CGs tire applicator. Man I really like the VRP and it plays really well with Michelins. I haven't had too much success with Michelins and SC Beyond Black, but the VRP looked awesome. The wells were dressed with MS Quick Details. Didn't have to dress the back wells since they have that felt stuff.

Engine: It got the usual, a rinse, sprayed with MS Super Green Stuff, agitate with brush, rinse, dry with leaf blower, and finally dressed with MS Quick Details.

Glass: Inside and out got CG's Glass Cleaner. Wiped on with an El gordo MF and wiped off with AG guzzler. The guzzlers are just about shot and I'm really disappointed with the durablility of the guzzlers.

Interior: Interior was pretty clean, one of the best I've gotten so it was really easy. I wiped everything down with CGs Total Interior Cleaner and MF. Then protected everything with Optimum Protectant. Everything was vacuumed with the shop vac and door jambs got DP 4n1 QD and MF. The leather was in excellent condition so I used CGs Sprayable Liquid Leather Conditioner. Foor mats cleaned by spraying CGs Lightning Fast extractor on them and letting them sit. After about 10 minutes I go back with a wet white MF and wipe them down. It is amazing how all the stains just disappear. I then vacuum them and put in the obligatory stripes...you gotta have the stripes.

Wash: I used CG's Citrus Wash n Gloss in my Foam Cannon, new Karcher PW, and Chenille MF mitt. Bugs got Poorboys Bug Squash and and Pinnacle Safe Scrub.

Clay: Clayed the car and used DP 4n1 Clay Lube. I'm really starting to get my method down with clay and must say I am enjoying this step more and more. Thanks to MotorCity and Dust2Glory for their help in this area.

Paint: The Paint was in fantastic shape as the car was just dull. I decided to Duragloss it all. I started with DG 501 with a white lo pro 5.5" pad and the Flex @ speed 3.5. This was the first time using my modified 5" bp with the Flex and it worked great and the velcro stayed intact. I am very very pleased with this bp modification. After buffing off the 501 with P1et and my favorite CG black and yellow MF I applied the 601 via the Flex with 6.5" LC CCS gray pad @ speed 1.5. I still used the 5" bp and it worked well with the 6.5" pad as well. I really like the idea that you don't have to buff the 601 off before putting on the 105. Next up was the 105 and I applied it via the Flex with 6.5" red LC CCS pad @ speed 1. Man the 105 went on soooo easy and came off really easy too. The shine reminds me of JetSeal. I really like that the durability of this combo is suppose to be unmatched.

Needless to say MotorCity gets a :thumb: for his advice and help. Now the pics are not my best because my wife left my SLR at her Mom's :shakehead:so I had to use my 8 year old little girl's point and shoot camera. Also the sun just refused to come out and was overcast the entire time during the detail. It did however come out about a mile before I pulled back into the parking lot to return the vehicle so the owner got to see it in the sun. She was really impressed and said several of her co-workers had requested my cell number so maybe it will lead to some other jobs. Well here are the before and afters:

Thanks Rocco, I love how big clients eyes get when they see the engines.

Oh yeah bro and I can't wait to see the durability myself. And no PW isn't the new toy, I'll keep you posted.:p:

That's a nice looking Camry, such a nice gloss to it. DG has a very nice gloss to it and like you said it has protection that can't be beat...so it says...I still have not seen it for my self..I've read the bottes and it says you only need to apply it once a year...I've been curious about this..how DG look and protect if you apply it in layers :shead: I think it would look and protect great..I need to give this a try.

The vehicle looks great, extremely nice gloss to it..but I never tried applying it with a pad...I've only used DG after I've polished out the vehicle.

Well I think there is more to DG then I've explored, I know Sparkie and big Al are big fan of DG and I can see why.

Well back to the detail....I really like those stripes on the carpet :appluse:

thank you for sharing and your just as bad as me when it comes to detailing :peace:

Yeah Nica I was thinking about buffing off the 105 with AW but I was afraid that with this being the first time using it I didn't want to mess it up. I was afraid if the shine didn't come out like I envisioned I would have too many variables to pin down what the problem was. I think next time I'm going to try the AW though unless Al says you shouldn't.

Yeah just as bad as you as far as buying things too :shh:.

I'll drink to that :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

Oh and I like using AW to remove the 105, AW smells great and seems to enhance the gloss  that's just me though....I think I'm going to make this my go to combo for winter preps, I still like Wolfgang sealant ohand I need to try klase supposed to be a really great sealant for protection.

Awesome job on the Camry. DG 501/105 is an awesome combo. I recently used it on a silver Porsche 997 and the paint was glowing.

For the price of the products it can't be beat.

Great write-up and fantastic looking Toyota!

I keep reading about the DG line of products, I may have to try it soon.

Don't you just love those fuzzy rear wheel wells? :what:

Thanks Phil and look forward to the order coming!!

Yeah I'm going to use the AW to remove next time too and probably will become my winter go to combo as well.

Thanks bro! And you think being my friend and all you would provide an intervention for me as opposed to always feeding my addiction! :rollinglaugh:

Ahh pirex thanks buddy. Pics really did not do the gloss justice.

That's great to hear Pat! I have a silver truck coming up and have been told from a very reliable source that if I can impress the owner it will open up some doors detailing wise that I would kill to get into. So you think this combo on the silver would be great?

Hey DLR thanks for the compliments. I have only tried a small handful of DG products but everyone I have tried have been a homerun and have become mainstays in my arsenal.

And those fuzzy wheel wells may help cut down road noise or whatever their purpose is but they can be a pain to clean!
