What kind of work are you trying to get done?? Makitas are really easy to work on. I have disassembled mine numerous times to clean it and replace the power cord. Makita service centers are really good and their prices are fair. You can go to the Makita website for service locations.
Yeah, if you know what's wrong with it you might be better off ordering the part and doing it yourself. Sometimes after paying for repairs you could of bought a new machine for a little more. Unless you have an older Makita that was actually built well then I'd be worth the cost.
I am in Toronto. I searched around on the internet for diy to replace my power cord but if all else fails I am going to go to the Makita depot in Whitby. Thanks guys!
