This car belongs to a friend of mine. It was heavily vandalized both inside and out. Many panels had multiple scratches. The worst part is that he had just taken off the comprehensive part of his insurance b/c he wasn't driving it. The car is going to be repainted. When I saw the car, I offered to try to touch it up to make the scratches less noticeable. That was my goal. I was going to clean it and touch it up as well as I could. Here's the interesting part. The store where I sent him for touch up sold him cans of paint for his car. I usually use the factory paint in a little bottle and apply it to the scratch with a toothpick. It's a great method b/c it gets down into the scratch and does not put a big blob there. The spray cans were different but what I did was to spray onto cardboard that I had folded and dabbed the toothpick into the paint and did it that way. It actually worked BETTER! The paint was thinner so it spread easier, quicker and better. I will be using these in the future! What a good discovery! This was also the first detail where I used my Bilt Hamber AB. I did not do the inside although I did do the mats. I could not compound the fill-ins because the heat would pull out the paint, so I did it by hand with DG 501. The job still took 15 hours. The Process: Wheels/Barrels/Tires/Wells: Wheels & Barrels cleaned with Carbrite Acid Tires cleaned with Zep Citrus Wells cleaned with Zep Citrus too Wheels subsequently polished by hand with DG 501 Tires dressed with DP gel Wells dressed with Adams Glass: Cleaned with Stoners IG Mats: Vacuumed Stain treated with Zep Traffic where necessary Power washed Re-vacuumed Paint: Touch up with toothpick method, twice where necessary to hide the white underneath hand polished with DG 501 Sealed with AB Finished with AW BEFORES: GETTING FOAMED: TOUCH UP IN ACTION: THIS BOYS AND GIRLS IS WHY YOU DON'T LEAVE BIRD SHIT ON PAINT: AFTERS: (DONE AT 10PM: NO OUTSIDE SHOTS, SORRY)
Thats damn awful that someone would do that..i dont know why i even get surprised anymore. Great save, you made it look a lot better.
There's some really bad ppl out there now days. Looks great. Great job! My car was keyed at an apt complex back a cpl years ago. I got it fixed the next morning. I'm sure the guy was going "this is the car i keyed right?" hehehe
Man that is the Worst/Best Key job I've ever seen.Someone certainaly needs there a** kicked.I would rather someone sucker punch me in the face, then do that to my car. Richy, youdid what you could under the circumstances,it looks much better and I know just filling in all those deep scratches took you forever....I swear if you took my pulse right now it is definetaly higher then it was 5 minutes earlier....This is just terrible, what a wussy to do something like that to a car.:shakehead:
Women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! J/K... he must have really pissed someone off, question is how does a Vandal get inside the car???
Man looking at those pictures made me a bit sick to my stomach. I have no idea why people have to do things like this.
Thank you. It was keyed I assume. It seems people just don't know where to draw the line anymore. The worse I have ever seen! It's funny you say that...when I trade my FX, I'm not sold on going black again..hmmmmmm.. I felt so bad for him Ken. Ya, whatever satisfaction he had would have been short-lived. Don't get me started on what I'd do to catch the coward in hte act! No, he's a devoted husband. He parks it out front of his business and left it open.
"Your Honour, he was coming at me with a key..it was aimed straight at my eye and I was in fear for my life..that's why I shot him 11 times." Why 11 times? "That's how many bullets I had".:applause2::fs:
Man that sucks, I hate to see when ppl have no respect for other people and their property. Richy the car looks great, great work
