Hey there DB!!! Mid way through last week I had contacted my good friend and client, a Subaru dealership manager after hearing rumors of a BRZ coming in to make an appearance at a local show and asked to be able to contact the representative about me (Premier Shine) to become the first detailer in the U.S. to prep/ work on this car! I received a call back two days later from the Subaru north america rep giving me the "go" to work my magic on it in a short window of a little over two hours! What I did- Basic decon wash Full Clay Paint Sealant application Basic Interior- vac, trim and degrease all plastics, wipe down suede. The car was at the Richmond auto show, then made its appearance at the NY auto show last week at the Javitz center. After this the car was put into storage and driven down on a covered trailer to Richmond where the rep then picked it up and left shortly before 5 a.m. the day of the show. I then received the car that morning at around 7:45 a.m. Products: - CG citrus wash and clear/ Dawn wash - Megs WB- 15:1 - Megs APC - CG JetSeal 109 - 303 aerospace protectant - Adams VRT - Sonax Glass cleaner Tools: - Flex DA - Uber spoke brush - Various Swissvax brushes - Wool mitts - Pinnacle bug and tar block Onto the pics - Car arrived early a.m. pretty covered in bug guts on the front end, minimal brake dust and tons of pollen Early a.m. the BRZ in the wash bay: Getting to work on the wheels Chatting it up with the rep Pinaccle block sitting in its own bucket (spongebob) Wash process- stripping off the copious amounts of spray wax/ QD from the show nuts Designated LA mitt (lower area) Rinsed, blown dry with the blower then- After the car was pulled from the wash bay- driven over across the lot  to the bay area in front of the dealership to begin claying The car was clayed with a fine grade clay- not much was picked up- apologies for no pics Here I am applying JetSeal 109 via my Flex and a black applicator pad People starting to gather.... Random shot While waiting for the JetSeal to gas out and cure a little I began work on the interior Awesome design here IMO Vac'ing The motor was spotless and a quick wipedown with some 303 made it perfect Sealant removed, glass cleaned in and out and the tires dressed with VRT afters.... The Rep and his lovely wife My good friend the manager of the dealership and also my client Rep and I So far, I believe I am the first detailer to work on the BRZ as well as post a write-up! Big milestone for me and my company! Thanks for looking! - Dan
Very nice, very nice. Can't wait to see more of these on the road. Great lines and curves, deep gloss paint, mmmm. How thick is the pill on the carpeting? It is that cheap stuff that traps the dirt easily but never wants to let it go?
Yes.....unfortunately the mats on this one were those pita type mats that are very fine- air compressor made short work of the tiny pieces that were "trapped" though. I was REALLY impressed by this model and after sitting in the interior for a good amount of time, driving it etc. I looked again at the price tag figure in my head and wanted to sign right then and there for a vip spot come end of May
Intresting little car....... being a subaru guy, Im just not sure what to think about this car yet. none the less, great work!
According to Subarus site (including the builder) this model with keyless start, fogs, touch/navi, interior upgrade etc. is $27.5 (the Limited model)
Very nice Dan! I'm sure later down the road Subaru will realize they screwed up, and offer a 300+ hp STi version, lol.
great work and very exciting! there is one running around here near detroit that has been spotted by a few people. cant wait till they get it together and put out one with some serious power. edit: I forgot to say this but if you search Subaru BRZ STi, they have a concept for it, im sure its not long before its a real thing. Im sure they wont just leave it
JetSeal 109 has grown on me- still a Menz PL guy but i'm finding it easier to top the 109 with a carnauba so I've been favoring it lately
nice work! cool car, just saw it at the NY auto show. cant wait till they make one with some STI badges
Awesome car!! I was at that Richmond Auto Show! I saw the BRZ up close, very cool car. Rear wheel Drive?! Crazy! Nice job!
