Souveran/M16 over Collinite 845?

    Hi,

I'm looking for the easiest, best looking and decently durable combination on dark colors. Would 845 + Souveran paste be a good combination? Would applying the Souveran take some 845 off?

What about light colors? Would Collinite 845 + M16 be a good choice?

    Thanks.

Can I ask why you would put Souveran on top of 845? What is wrong with 845 by itself? You will be topping something a very long durability (845) with something that is known to have very little durability (Souveran). M16 is a different story.

I think you're good with just 845. Just prep the surface nicely and enjoy.

To give some depth, because apparently 845 looks more like a sealant? Never tried it, so I cannot confirm this. I would expect 845 to keep its 5-6 months durability, and Souveran to give some depth for a month or so.

Thats exactly what would happen. Given we are going into winter, why not top the 845 with a more durable wax, unless you are able to reapply the Souveran regularly.

That's because I'm currently buying some products for next summer. :) And was wondering what I could add to my current arsenal:
    Dark colors:
    - EX-P
    - Natty's blue

    Light colors:
    - Klasse SG
    - P21S

    All colors:
    - Souveran

I thought 845 and M16 would complement well:
    - 845 as a potential replacement for EX-P
    - M16 as a potential replacement for P21S because it isn't durable enough

On my silver winter beater, my choice will be Klasse AIO + 2 layers of Klasse SG + M16.

Personally, I would leave the 845 as is. It actually looks very nice by itself, and I have a non-metallic black truck. You will not be disappointed!

Souveran wouldn't add any depth/shine to 845? :yikes:

So I wasted some money. :crash:

An inexpensive choice is Poorboys EX. It looks wicked on solid darks and has decent durability.

You didn't waste your money, but remember that on a well prepped surface, the LSP doesn't really add *THAT* much difference.

Prep the surface, apply 845 to it. Wipe off, stand back, and look at it. Now, add Souveran to it. Wipe off, stand back, and look at it now. If you see a difference, perfect! If not, no worries, as 845 looks great by itself.

And don't buy Poorboys EX-P. It's the only Poorboys product I have tried that has actually let me down. It looks very nice, but does NOT last whatsoever.

845 on top of werkstat acrylic jett trigger is nice.

I agree that 845 by itself is still nice. Maybe you could just do 2 coats (24 hours in between) of the 845 for the winter. That would be good durability for sure.

That's good to know! Thanks for the info. So what could I use the Souveran for?

My initial question was with regards to next summer. :) Sorry for not specifying this.

Souveran should be good on any color. I applied it to a silver S2000 back in the summer and it looked nice :D

It's so easy to apply and remove as well.

so what if you don't reapply the souveran regularly, will the 845 not be as durable? i mean if you put the souveran on top of 845

good to know that i didnt waste money either by getting souveran. already have 2 coats of 845, wondered if anything else would make it look more black. Roger said that Wet Obsession looked good.

so if you put souveran on top of 845, the souveran will take 845 off? or it just adds to durability of 845?

IMO, 845 itself will give you very good look if you prep properly as some detailers mentioned above. Most people using collinite for winter or durability.

Im considering to add souveran to my arsenal, but the price is not cheap though ... good to see some reviews of it ...
