This stuff works the Best :thumb: I used to sware by that Mother's wheel cleaner till I used this for the first time this weekend I will never go to anything else:headbang:
It's good stuff and I usually reserve it for German brake dust. Otherwise I use Meguiars WB diluted at 4:1 or just soapy water
Ya I read a lot of things on the Sonax and Detaliers Domain was having that great deal of the day so I bought it to try it out and love it so far
Sonax Full Effect is great stuff! I use it on the Porsche's wheels. It is amazing how easy it is to use and how great the wheels look after. Phil runs the 6 pack on sale often (fortunately).
The Sonax product and also P21X are based on the same chemical and soften brake dust almost as well as the old HF acid cleaners use to do. This product formulation has been matched and is available through Griot's Garage in Tacoma , WA. They simply refer to it as "Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner". It is non acid, non caustic and safe to use but highly effective on brake dust.
I still have quite a stock of Sonax left over but I have tried and fell in love with P21S gel and Griot's Heavy Duty .. both seem to work pretty well with agitation and I enjoy having options for every product I use (mostly the reason I spend entirely too much money on detailing products lol)
Vi... Good plan. It's always nice to have a backup product to use. You only spend too much on detail products if what you buy doesn't work. The Griot's product was formulated to match or surpass the usage properties and performance of the P21S gel product. I believe it has a bit more of the active ingredient than the P21S so is a bit more effective and I believe the price is better than the P21S as well. Worth a try by all of you that are in need of an outstanding wheel cleaner. The Chemist
I have all three and would say that performance wise, Sonax is the better of the three, although not by much over the Griots product. If you are shopping value, get the Griots for the cost savings and have a product like Megs WB for the nasty stuff. Don't waste expensive wheel cleaners trying to get it to do something it wasn't designed for.
