I just can't get it! I applied 2 coats of Swissvax Mystery to my car, waiting 24 hours exactly between coats and applied very thin coats almost invisible. It beads like nothing else after 6 days of straight rain, but the wax is ALLLL hazed up on the paint and even worse there are so many water spots that will not come off with wash or QD! I don't get it the wax is only 1 week old!!!!!! Why am I getting spots? I can't even believe a $600 wax would screw up this bad!

Can anyone help me out...how to remove the haze and how to remove the spots? I'm sriously thinking about giving up on Swissvax after experiencing this for the billionth time in a row!

Sounds to me like you have a Mystery on your hands.:shead:

The rain may have been acidic, or all that water non stop may have washed your wax off, and caused severe water spots. Try using a cleaner wax or light polish to remove the water spots. IF that doesn't work you may have to step up to a more aggressive polish.

Try and lay down a sealant before applying SV Mystery next time, and see if this helps in th future. Hopefully this post will help you.:thumb:

I was hoping he put down some type of sealant, that is why I had asked his process before the wax application..

Mystery to me, and if that stuff is $600 it will stay a Mystery...
    :giggle:

P.S. I know jayplay(Gleamin Klean) is into the whole Swissvax Line of Products, maybe he will chime in.:help:

Are you tryin to work this by Hand or Machine, and if so what kind(Machine)?

The haze is the wax sweating, you have to use extremely thin coats for this not to happen, and if it does wipe down with a QD or a MF in very cold water. Since the wax has alot of nuba content it will be very hard for a wash or qd to remove the spots. Go back over the vehicle with your cleaner fluid or finishing polish and pad, then re-apply the Mystery very thin.

How would laying down a sealant help with applying Mystery? Have you used this wax before?

nope not gonna apply swissvax anymore to my cars, the sweating makes my car look like crap, it is embarrassing to have people say that it looks like my paint is fading!!!!! and it happens on my gf's car too....henoestly I like 1Z glanz wax sooo much better, I've always thought it looked and performed better...just didn't want to admit it to myself seeing as I have invested almost 2 grand in swissvax so far, but enough is enough I applied the layers so super thin, so thats not it at all....man, what a disappointment!

    that's horrible.

i've had this happen with expensive wax and it really kills the experience for you. were both cars that got Mystery applied black?

sell the SV and try your luck with something else. wish you the best.

I can understand your frustration. The first time I applied Mystery it hazed on my vette. I expected this to happen but not to the degree it did. It came off with Qd so I wasn't to upset and chalked it up to using a new product that I never used before. The next go around I made sure I applied a very thin coat and no miseries. I even put it on a 68 Camaro I just did it came out fine. If you are not happy the only thing to do is find what will make you happy and stick with that. I just enjoy the high end/high nuba content waxes. it makes washing a vehicle so much easier.

Perhaps a sealant like Zaino or Klass would suffice and won't haze?

It's unfortunate to hear your negative experiences with Swissvax waxes but I'm sure there are other forum members who'd be willing to pick it up from you. :)

If you go with Concorso there will be no issues :)

I sometimes have the same problem with RBOE but I can live with it. "Spit shining" helps a lot of course

Swisswax has a great line of waxes and it’s a shame you experienced such a negative outcome (I sound just like a co rep :thud:

A good technique with high Carnauba wax content waxes is to buff the wax with a micro fibre towel and then spritz the paintwork with very cold distilled water and wipe down; this helps to set the wax and will add that little extra gloss. Allow the solvents to vaporize (outgas) in the sun’s heat and then buff to a gloss.

Interesting, I wonder if it's the climate that causes some of these issues. The reason I say that is because I've never had any issues with any of my Swissvax waxes. From all my Swissvax waxes I've never seen it sweat like Zymol does, when I apply Crystal Rock or Divine I simply apply a thick coat with a foam applicator (you guys know me :crasy:) let it sit for a few hours then give it a final wipe down with Field Glaze :giggle: :giggle: Take it outside inspect the finish and done...the odd times I find spots I've missed but other then that that's all that's ever happened to me. The reason I say climate though is because here in Calgary it doesn’t get as hot as some areas in the US.

Sorry to hear about Mystery acting up on you, come to think of it there was another person/member who was having this exact same issue...:shead: :shead:...he too started a thread like this...now who was that :shead:

If you put it up for sale I'm sure it will be gone in no time and you can move on to trying something new :thumb:

maybe, here in the SC sun all day! But it is garaged. I'm not gonna say that anything will hold a candle to this wax looks wise right after application, but the sweating just makes my car look horrible. Thinking of switching to 1Z glanz, used that with no issues on my gf's ride (black):thumb:

Yea I'm not sure what could cause your vehicles to haze up so much, I know Vintage sweats like crazy and when I miss an area it's an eye sour and stands out but from Swissvax I haven’t had too many issues.

I've never tried 1Z glanz my self but if it works by all means stick with it :thumb: It's always good to try something new but if it's not working for you the only options you have are to move on to the next item or try and figuire out the issue.

by all means, don't think I'm bashing swissvax, it's just in my climate it is no good.

I will say Smaragd does not do this as MUCH, but still does haze up considerably
