this car had some very bad oxidation on the vorsteiner hood and especially the vorsteiner trunklid. it took quite a bit of polishing to remove it all, but the results were amazing!

    Before:

In these pictures you can really see how the sun had taken a toll on the carbon fiber parts.

Here's a scratch from someone keying the car. i used a kit from Dr. Colorchip to fix it, and for my first time using their kit it was a very good product!

the clay came out extremely dirty, this picture was after doing the top of the trunklid

For the first attempt to remove the heavy oxidation on the trunklid and hood i tried SIP with an orange pad on the trunklid. in this picture you can see it made a HUGE difference, however after wiping the section down with Menzerna Top Inspection, the surface underneath still was not perfect.

the middle part had not been touched and the two sides were polished.

here you can see after SIP there was still some cloudiness to the finish

thus i decided i needed to go more agressive and use M105 and a yellow Uber cutting pad to get out all the oxidation

here's how the hood looked before polishing it with M105

and after (please dont mind the smear marks from the polishing residue)

From the pictures I clicked on it looks great. Wish I knew why the pics were that way though with the links instead of the actual image.

Scheerspeed: you copied the wrong link. When you get into flickr click onto the you tab up top this will take you to your photogallery. Now click on the photo you would like to use and then on top of the photo there's a tab called all size. After clicking that at the top of the picture you would want to click the appropriate size you would like to use (I'd recommend the medium size). After that at the bottom of the screen will be your picture link

Florida has some sick spots to do detail work. Almost like the complex has it's own detail bay.

Every time i see vehicles like that with oxidation in my head i know it can come out but i always question it. Just by looking at the pictures of the oxidized Carbon Fiber i would think that it was shot but man it looks good.

You guys did a great job.

wow that's cool stuff man. The place you live at has private garages for rent? Wish they built some of those over here. That is a sweet deal.

well i live in a townhouse that is separate from the main building, and all the townhouses get a separate garage that leads directly into your house
