    Hi all Seniors,

I m planning to purchase polish/compound/paintclenaer products. However, there is limited brand available in my country (Indonesia) as follow:

    Optimum
    Meguairs
    Autoglyms
    Duragloss
    Mothers

    My friends do recommended Megs #80, #83, #105 & #205.

Please help me out to choose the best of polish/compound/paintclenaer products from above listed brands. I believe, Detailingbliss is the best place to asking for help to find out the best products.

I hope all seniors could give some comment on each products.

    Appeciate for all ur comments.

    Cheers

    1. Optimum- easiest to use, great finish
    2. Duragloss- great line of products
    3. Duragloss- great line of products, rivals the No I (Zanio)
    4. Autoglym – I haven’t use this product line in a while, way back when it was all I ever used
    5. Meguairs – No comment, I’ve never used the product line
    6. Mothers - No comment, I’ve never used the product line(their metal polishes are No I)

To follow on this, Meguair's makes a lot of great products. I would recommend their All Purpose Cleaner, Shampoo Plus, Wheel Brightener, Polishes #83, #80, #105, #205, Their Polishing pads are great too. I have never used it but I hear their wax, #16 I think it is, is also top notch. Autoglym is also top notch, they make great products. I would avoid Mothers, period.

Meguiars 105 + 205 + Autoglym's SRP would be a fantastic combo. Youd need to follow SRP with some other protection...

There are some really good Mothers products. Dont turn your back on a line just because its OTC. Try products and keep using what works.
Mothers metal polishes are top notch, and so is the QD. Mothers has a polish that I absolutely love on interior wood, as well.

Avoid Mothers products and as far as the others go, it really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. What degree of correction, what tools do you plan on using, etc. Megs compounds and Duragloss sealants are a combo that I use all the time as well as my other favourite: Menzerna.

I dun hv any machine like PC or rotary, Mostly using hand on minor correction, my car considered very new (2months old) & Medium Silver color as shown on profile picture.

@ aesop: Yes, I heard a lot of good review on Megs 105 + 205, are they a new version of #83 & #80? what are difference compared to #80 & #83? Im planning to order megs Detailer brand, D120 (glass cleanener), D151 (AIO), D155(QD), any comment abt those megs detailer brand? How abt the Liquid wax? It sell on gallon for detailer brand, so I need to choose it on wisely, otherwise, it wasted.

@greased, @911fanatic: both of u voted Autoglym SRP, it seems SRP is good product. Need to take into consideration. Yes, Mother metal polish is Top product.

@richy: as mentioned above, I only using bare hand so far. Megs compound = #105? Duragloss Sealand = Total Performance Polish #105?

Megs #105, is it must use machine? considered as a newbie, what kind of machine recommend to? To be honest, consider to purchase Metabo rotary, is it difficult for newbie? Im afraid to damage the clear coat or paint, never ever use machine before.

    Cheers guys ...

Megs 105/205 combo followed by 3m ultrafina. Will take care of 99% of your needs.:headbang:

Its preferable these products to be used by Machine for Maximum Results, but with a little elebow grease you can acheive fantastic results by hand :thumb:

M105/M205 can be used by hand using the correct pads by hand. You will not get the best results but it can be done and get some decent results from it. It will take alot of work and will probably make your hand hurt for the next few days, haha.

You can use some hand polishing pads or get smaller, 4 inch round pads and use them by hand for 105/205.

guys, how about 3M ultrafina? can replace M205?

  20. agpatel

    agpatel OD On Detailing

I do not know if ultrafine is any good by hand, but it could work fine as it is a finish polish. I say if you can get 205 easier then go for it, but if you can get 3m faster then you can use that as well.
