So i got my lusso paint cleanser in from phil and just have a few questions in general.

What is the purpose of using a paint cleanser?

How do I apply a paint cleanser?

Sorry but I am new to using any type of paint cleanser and just looking for some little insight from the pros!!

    Thanks guys,

The times I have used one it was on a vehicle with very very good paint. Maybe a newer car or one that I had already done polishing on. The best example would be my own vehicles. I might have a Sealant or Wax on and after say a month I might want to put a LSP on that is completely different. Well I don't need to polish but the paint needs a good cleaning to get regular grime off as well as all the former LSP off too. I think of it as giving me a clean slate to work on when polishing is not needed. I have had a few people drive their new vehicles right off the lot to my house for a detail and polishing wasn't needed so I just used a paint cleansing lotion prior to LSP. It makes the paint really slick. I might be totally off but that's the way I view it.

:agree: with Wolfpacker92, paint cleansers can be used in many applications but one is like Wolfpacker said and one that I use it as is after the polishing is done I some times use the paint cleansing lotion to give the vehicle that extra umph...now you don't really need t do this step at all but I really like it becuase it gives the paint an extra apperance...that's just what I do...that and it helps the wax bond to the paint.

Those are just the ways I use it, I could be wrong or it could be overkill but it works great for me.

Yeah I was not sure but didn't want to put it on with a machine if I should not. I will stick to applying it by hand.:thumb:

I apply everything by machine. I almost always use a gray LC CCS pad with a cleanser. I have used a white pad before but didn't see where it helped that much more. I have not used a cleanser with the Flex yet but would probably run that on speed 2 I ran the PC on speed 3 or 3.5.

Nica and Wolpacker summed it up nicely.

Thanks for the replies boys, good information here. If you were to apply it by hand, would one just use a megs gold class foamie or something?

If I were going to apply by hand then yes that's what I would use.

Do you apply by hand or machine Asphalt?

I have done both, even tried with a rotary, dont do that, didnt think it would work but just had to see what would happen. I only use it on my vette since its so clean and I use it on a pc with a grey low profile pad. The pc seems to give it that little extra umph. This way you can avoid any streaking that may occur when used by hand.

I had seen the same thing when using a machine. Just wasn't sure if maybe I was missing out on something by not doing it by hand. Nica any paticular reason you do by hand?

Um...well I like to manhandle the vehicle lol...I don't know my opinion is that the rotary, PC, Cyclo..ect..ect.t...they have a purpose but I just use my rotary's or othe rmachines for paint corrections and only paint corrections...once I've completed the paint corrections I go back to everything by hand......old school metality I supposed...this is just me but I'm a big beleaver in hand made things are better...but then again there is nothing wrong with machine made either.. just my personal preference to do things by hand that's all, no real reason.

I apply paint cleansers with a white pad and UDM on speed 4. The white pad gets pretty dirty so I can see it's cleaning the paint well :). I also work it in a little bit to actually clean the paint. I don't use much pressure, just a little bit.
