P21 TAW and S100 Total Cycle Cleaner

Are these the exact same product? I have heard this and one is considerably cheaper and was just wanting to know if what i heard was correct...thanks guys

 

IMO its the same thing. Slightly different tint.

A Visit to P21S

 

Reading various forums and asking the same question, most say they are exactly the same. I decided to e-mail the parent company and ask myself.

I have not had time to buy and of the P21s products yet, but did buy and try the S100 TCW and Gel Wheel cleaner (since they were OTC). So far I liked the TCW. I do want to pickup some TAW to try it against the TCW.

Anyway hopefully my little research was helpful.

I was really needing it for engines and such..even as a prerinse to take off wax and road grime..s100 total cycle cleaner 45...TAW 62.....

 

So here is my over generalized take. What is a Motor cycle? An exposed engine with some panted parts. What is TCW designed for. Cleaning a Motor cycle.

I have bought TCW and plan on using it for my first engine detail. At some point I will purchase some TAW and compare the two. Maybe even do a side by side cleaning of an engine. Really I guess it comes down the how I like the products performance for the cost, which will help me decide what I ultimately want to keep around.

But these decisions for me are a long way away, as I am still in the early learning stages and am spending more time working on washing and polishing. Engine cleaning will come soon enough though.

I have not messed with the TAW or s100 total wash, but I have done some testing between S100 wheel gel and P21s wheel gel..........there is a difference in my experience.

The p21s is stronger, quicker, and can dwell on wheels for 2hrs if needed. The s100 is weaker in all areas.

I would guess like others point out that TAW and s100 cycle wash are going to act in a similar way.

I read on another board that TAW and cycle cleaner were one and the same, so I was getting ready to buy S100 total cycle cleaner in their largest size to save the bucks. Now I'm disappointed. I wonder if they say that just to get people to buy TAW? Anybody else know anything? I know there've been plenty of people who say the carnaubas are no different.

 

One works on a motorcycle one works on a car...what do you have to lose with either?

well, i will probably just get the TAW when the time is right....my question is when another company is going to challenge P21S for the market of a product like this....CG should take note, DBers would go crazy!!! I have been toying with the idea of ordering a gallon of Citrus Wash Clear and cutting it 1:1 for engines and see how it compares to TAW

 

^ I'm going to do the same, haven't explored ratios though. A cheaper citrus degreaser that can be used EVERYWHERE (paint, under the hood, tires, wheel wells) would rock!

 

I posted this idea in another thread as well but it seems relevant here, when is someone going to challenge P21S in this product's market? CG would be wise to do so and create a cheaper alternative! They just did it for the P21S wheel gel, maybe a TAW substitute is coming?

In my same e-mail thread to the parent company I ask about the standard wax as well. They said different formula, but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I can grab the quote from my e-mail if people would like.

If funny, who and what info do you trust? I feel I should be able to trust the parent company, but still took their replies with a grain of salt I guess. I guess its going to just come down to me trying each and seeing which ones work for me.

Considering I never used a citrus degreaser before trying TCW, I had no benchmark and was impressed with how it worked.

Yeah, it really just comes down to how the product works out for you. Knowing if product Y is the same as product Z just dips into finer details that do not relate to the products' performance but I'm sure there are some people that actually would like to know those details.

 

Sorry to stray but what is CG alternative to P21S Wheel gel?

 

they have a wheel citrus cleaner, but I dont know if its a gel. Is there a safe way to turn a liquid into a gel? Id just turn my megs apc into a gel..works fine on wheels

 

They are about to come out with it..it isnt on the website or anything..like many other things lol
