never did try it in a spray can . . . . . . and by that i'm assuming that you mean some of those aerosol type sprayers you can purchase.

That might work to get it on the paint as a pre soak type deal . . . . . but in the end the best thing to do would be to use a foam gun to create a heavy lather/foam that will sit on the vehicle and help loosen up the dirt and remove it prior to you washing the vehicle. After a good pre soak then you can follow up with the ONR.

    That's just my opinion though.

I wouldn't use it on a very dirty car, but that's just me.

    Sprayer System

I strongly recommend using ONR as a pre-wash using a mister/sprayer type of device. This will help to loosen or emulsify the dirt that is on the paint surface. This will also help to remove surface dirt without creating scratches or surface marring.

No power cords necessary no waste, no bulk carry around; Gilmour Pesticide Spray Unit, United States Plastic Corporation ® Sprayer or Solo Hand Pump Sprayer, Model# 418-1L from Northern Tool Company it makes rinse less / water less detailing a breeze. Dilute as instructed. Simply misted onto surface, one softens, lifts, and encapsulates dirt particles in a protective lubricant that is easily and safely wiped away with a micro fibre towel.

Heavy duty construction- the walls of the pressure chamber are over 0.25- inch thick. Keeping in mind that the high pressure system can retain some serious pressure once pumped we developed the walls to be extra thick. The Matt Clear HDPE packaging is also 100% recyclable and UV treated to protect the product inside. Heavy Duty construction guarantees a long life to your sprayer even in the event that you should drop it. Remember to always release pressure inside bottle when you’re finished, by simply loosening the top

You could also use one of DD Kwazar Products Double Action Sprayer

Jon..I understand about the pre-soak. Are you suggesting simply wiping that off or are you meaning to let it dwell and then power wash it off. I'm thinking of a very dirty car with either mud or salt from the winter. Not just dust.

I've used ONR in this manner with no problems with scratching.

Now I wouldn't use it this way with caked on mud/salt/dirt, but just general dust or after you've driven your car in the rain and it has dried off dirty yeah go for it.

i've got one of those hand pump sprayers filled with wash strength ONR and I spray a panel let it sit a couple seconds and wipe it off with a MF covered sponge. Dry panel with a WW MF towel Clean sponge in a bucket of clean water and repeat.

I alternate this method with a good old fashioned soapy water wash and haven't induced one scratch.

ONR as a pre-soak is great. I generously apply it using a spray bottle, let it dwell for a minute or two and then follow with my mitt.

As you suggest, with a very dirty vehivle, use ONR as a pre-soak by allowing it to remain in place and then rinse off. I then do a 'normal' single bucket ONR wash

As a pre soak are you guys diluting or spraying on full strength?

Mixed and sprayed as per the bottle for a wash

FWIW I use about 1 oz. in a quart size sprayer, so it's much higher concentration than the normal wash. One reason for that is that in the winter (or any other time for that matter) when I'm not able to rinse it and I just proceed to use a standard single bucket ONR wash, I have greater lubricity to help prevent scratching.
