Good afternoon!! I have known client for several years. After following my work for a while, decided his Honda was depressed and in need of some TLC. Was blessed to have vehicle for 2 weeks while clients were vacationing. Total time was around 14 hours. Interior was mainly dusty and had some interesting areas that turned out very nice! Exterior needed a good two stage correction and was sealed up with Sonax Netsheild. Car was rear ended, repaired, resprayed, and body shop left me some great challenges and achieved stunning results!! On with the show! Upon arrival, still managed a smile knowing what was coming it's way... Hard to see, but normal road grime/dirt... Interior....client likes to leave windows down at work so vehicle is not burning hot afterwards...no problem, I'll clean it! All jambs needed a gentle scrubbing.... Well...lets clean up that smile!! Rims looking dull and lifeless.. Sonax Wheel Cleaner lifting contamination... Scrubbed up... Better... Door jambs much better!!! Engine bay spiffy!! That smile is starting to shine... I guess a good wash will do this ehh?? Iron X'ed whole car... Front end lower chrome strip...remember those purple tabs we ate as kids that showed where we did not brush?? Hahahah.. Both sides had a ton of contamination on them...whoa... Rear trunk lid after body work done...hazzy and full of buffer trails.. Drivers side rear quarter panel was reworked as well... Roof damage... Random paint condition pic's... Deck lid condition.... There's beautiful flake in dem dar fenders!! Alrighty then...Onto interior...something spilled down center counsel and under front seat... Felt like working in the dark I guess.....what the?? Lights please...LOL!! That's better... Back half of vehicle...Water from wringing out microfiber wipe down towel.. Drivers side front...not bad, but still.... Front rinse water... A few more paint condition pics... Decided to go with Meg's D/A M/F Cutting Pad & Correction compound...Great choice...paint got more moody as I moved on. 50/50 shots not so good.. Before.... After... . Better 50/50... Making progress... Clearing up the body shop issues... Favorite parts..tail light lens areas... Let's give em some love... That's better!! Great product!! Over spray patch found on drivers side rear door lower... Better!!! Nice recovery!! Yes!!! Moving to the other side..I always go drivers side hood and work around vehicle to passenger side hood... Nice flake! Passenger side rear...gesshhh..paint was a pain thru here...great results though! Lets get these to match the other side! Now were talkin!! Even though it looks a lot better, I was fighting like a cloudy finish...went over entire vehicle with Meg's M/F Finishing pad and M/F finishing wax, then topped with Sonax Netsheild. That helped greatly!! These are after Finish Wax, prior to Netshield coating being applied... Ready to be coated.. Gave rim's a coating of Netshield as well...made a HUGE difference!! Oh how did ya guess?? One happy Honda ready to be revealed!! How COOL!! It matches the exterior paint!! Deck lid that had all the haze and buffer trails.. Roof... So fellow detailers, this concludes the road of reviving One Happy Honda!!! Nice smile!! As always I am picture heavy. We only get one shot at this, so take a ton of photos when you can!! Half way thru July already..geeshhh where does the time go?? Preparing now for the rush of clients wanting to get their vehicles ready for fall!! Stock up on whatever you need, and be ready for anything!! Detail on people!! Shine on and live your dream!!! Thank you all for viewing and support!! Feel free to ask questions and comments are always welcome!! Oh and client was just wow!! Wow!! It is so much clearer, and the rims...whoaaaaa.....and inside holy cow!! Very happy with outcome. I said you have a very nice ride indeed!! Hoover
Great job on the whole detail! Honda paint is truly a pain and is as soft as it gets! I found foam finishing pads and a finishing polish work well on it. And that customer should be happy that the hood of his civic didn't have little crows feet underneath the clear coat!
Thanks Okay!! I was frustrated with M/F Cutting pads and actually threw one across the garage, but that's a seperate issue. I tried Meg's Foam cutting pads, but could not get the cut I felt I needed. Once I had a section where I needed it, call it good. Some took 1 pass, others 2 to 3. All over the place!! But it looked SO good in the sun yesterday!! No crows feet, but lots of stone chips on hood. Have a great day!! Hoover
Looks awesome! My wife's 2015 Si is the same metallic black and I did a quick polish on it when we got it. There wasn't much in the paint as I told the dealer if they washed it then I wouldn't buy that car. I used a green foam polish pad and SF4000 and it did what it needed to. It is soft paint for sure.
