Hi, I was just at my local dept store (canadian tire) and picked this up a couple weeks back. Didn't really get a chance to use it but thought i'd check it out. "NuFinish- The Once A Year Car Polish. No rubbing-no buffing. Better than Wax! It's Guaranteed!" Directions: Wash and Dry Car Apply Sparingly with damp cloth Spread Evenly to one area at a time with circular motions Let dry to haze Wipe with clean dry cloth. *NuFinish gives five times more protection than wax. It even outlasts 52 automobile car washes. Let me know what you guys think of this product and how effective it really is. Thanks!
Grasshopper, We are glad you came here to learn the right way but the right way takes time....We hope you stick around to keep asking questions...All of us here will help you learn the proper methods and products to use...:thumb: By the way welcome to Detailing Bliss...:thumb:
Yea I definitely know NuFinish isn't the route I'm going to be taking but I was just asking what other's experience was. Just wondering why a product would be out on the market claiming to do it all WITH a guarantee. You guys are the pros so enlighten me as to why THIS product specifically isn't worth the hype the company is making it out to be. Cheers,
As said earlier, i'm not looking to use this product or expect my car to be swirl and scratch free. I just want to know from somebody who has used it or is very knowledgeable with NuFinish to offer some insight on the product. I'm not looking into any substitutes for it either. Thanks for the reply tho,
Not really a good choice. Its affordable sure but it does not provide much of a shine compared to other products you'll see talked about here. From seeing my friend's cars. At Canadian Tire, consider, Meguiars, Mothers and maybe Eagle1. Simoniz from Canadian tire has been disappointing as well. Also it does not really last that long. When I researched it, you get various results on durability so you can't really trust them. Its hard for a product to last the whole year, especially in Ottawa. However, if you don't want to spend much money and its all you can find then its affordable. Its popular among non-enthusiasts. Which is good cuz you can easily give it away after you start spending money on some of the waxes you'll discover on the site The marketing of saying its a "Once a year wax" is pretty convincing to people who aren't sure what to buy so I guess its the main selling point. When I first started, seeing all those products at Canadian Tire is daunting. So seeing it say its a Once a year wax made it stand out a bit. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the detailed answer. I am only going to try this out on an inconspicous area when sometime next week. I'm not going to use this at all on my car though and like you said will probably be giving this stuff away during the course of the summer. Where abouts in Canada are you located? Although this does say Once a Year, i wasn't expecting it to last long. Our winters do get a bit crazy and my car does see its fair share of snow and ice. Thanks
Best thing is to experiment and have fun with it and accumulate lots of wax I'm in Toronto so lots of salt but my friends in Ottawa let me know what its like up there As others have mention Collinite products really work well. It survived this whole winter on 3 cars. Hard to find in stores however.
Toronto, nice! thats' really close by. I'm actually going to be there next week to get some mods done on my car right after final exams are done. And ur right stores don't carry much stuff so im not gonna bother going anymore. Its great to see a Canadian Vendor (eShine) so I'm really going to be buying lots of stuff from him in the near future. Making a list as we speak This is going to be a FUN summer!
When I used Nu-finish on my car back when I was brand-new to detailing, it did nothing but stain my trim.
I would return the stuff..Crappy Tire is usually pretty good at taking returns. Even if they only give you a store credit, their Simonize tire cleaner is good for wheel wells and they actually have some decent brushes too. Between e-shine and autowerkes, you now have the world at your fingertips for Canadian supplied products. Collinite is teh longest lasting wax you're going to find..I would get the insulator wax from them as it's the easiest to apply/remove.
i still have mine that i got 3-4 years ago. got it couse of tv advertisement looked so good. young and dumb i know. maybe ill use it on my parents cars lol
There are a lot of people who really like Nu Finish. If your paint needs a good cleaning, it will deliver better results than slapping on an expensive wax (no proper paint prep).
i used it on my carbon fiber parts after wet sanding with 2000grit paper and it works great, even better after wax. i wonder what grit is paper towels lol, couse it helped as well
Tried it once.....and will never again! I mean don't get me wrong, it got the paint all nice and slick and seemed like it had some filling capabilities....but the fact that it stains triming is just horrible! lol i can't get them out now
