Okay well, I've been M.I.A on this site for many reasons and 1 being that i am getting ready to move! WE finally jumped on a house in the city of La Mirada..any so cal LA/OC residents know where that is Anyways, I was always into makin my rooms look pretty darn spectacular, but for my personal room id like to go Bonkers! haha Heres my idea that i have for one of the rooms. I am looking for advice on techinques and resources of where to get such products. The room is almost a perfect square, Id like to keep make it somewhat contemporary, Italian/Venitian style. I pictured THE TOP HALF of the walls being a light beige/sand color and the bottom half a DARKER BROWN, with a white strip (railing) in the middle. Id also REALLY LOVE TO HAVE CROWN MOLDING WITH ROPE LIGHS BUILT IN for indirect, mood lighting (giving this cool HALO effect). My carpet will also be soemwhat light brown BerBer. HERES THE PART I NEED YOUR OPINION/HELP ON... What techniques or resources could i go to, to do the FAUX style paitng on the walls. I was thinkin of doing the lowerhalf (dark brown walls) with VENETIAN PLASTER AND THE TOP HALF EITHER THE SAME...OR MAYBE A RAGGING EFFECT. Im also stuck on waht color to make my crown molding...and if i should color the ceiling as well? I kidna dont want to make the room look tooo dark, but at the same time, id like to have that Fancy Hotel feelign when i walk in. I'll be installing Recessed lighting with a dimmer so it makes the room look neat Any other suggestions? here are a few samples of ideas. all you artist come out n shoot the sh*t! haha here is the crown molding...although it wont be recesed like this..this is the effect i want here is what the texture on the walls will look like lighting thanks guys your opinions are highly recommended..hopefully this can kinda paint a picture of the look im going for!:applause2:
haha, i know you're inviting me over to chill at the new place i had a buddy who lived in La Mirada.. dunno what he's doing now. i like that style of paint for your walls. or texture. whatever it is haha. that last pic looks clean, i'd say go for it. how far is that from Albertacos?
ohhhh helllllllllllll no you did not just ask about ALBERTACOS...you knwo whats funny...how were 'locals' i hear that int eh spring/summertime people drive some 30 - 45miles from newport, la, to come to that exact one..police would always try to get everyone to leave at 1am... talk about LOCALS haha...from my currrent house...id say about 3 miles...from the new house..maybe 8...all within PROXIMITY! - carne asada fries, 3 rolled tacos, carne asada nachos...calfironia burrito...im salivating jus thinkin bout it! im meeting with the painter tomorrow to see what he can do for me, and the rest i can do after hes done. the house will be painted on the 26th finished by the 28th and the carpet will be put in in a few days later.
ahahaha Albertacos is the shit. but damn dude I can't eat all of that. I'm good with just carne asada fries or maybe just the california burrito hahaha. we gonna have to go sometime and chill at your new place don't mind me inviting myself over hahahaha. I wanna see the finished product so get some pics up asap!
