Finally got rid of my wife's daily driver (Mercedes GL450). I couldn't stand that thing. Been looking at the Audi Q7 and the Lexus, but decided on this tank. This thing is HUGE. I'm going to have fun detailing this behemoth.

    Where to start....

I purchased my first GL back in October 2006. The first week, my wife took it to the grocery and when she came out it wouldn't start. It was in the shop for 82 days. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and they came up with it was a key issue. They said they had to order a new key from Germany and that is why it took so long. I called BS on that especially when we picked the car up and not 3 miles down the road, the car shut down while my wife was driving it on the highway doing 65 mph. After fighting with the dealership and getting my attorney involved, they agreed to give me another new GL. Well, the problems did not end there. For the next 6 years, I believe EVERY part on that car was replaced with the exception of the passenger door handle. Of course, I'm embellishing a bit, but my wife keeps everything and while I was cleaning out the glovebox preparing to trade the car, I came across all of the repair papers. Over the past 6 years, the car was in the shop 41 times for different issues. This is not counting minor issues like a rattle in the back seat, I'm talking 41 times in the shop for repairs where parts were replaced. Not to mention, that customer services sucked to the nth degree at the ONLY dealership in town. You know when they say, it's easier to keep a current customer than try and lore a new one in. Well, Mercedes has NO chance of ever getting my business again based on the two lemons I got and the crapy customer service the showed over 6 years.

Hopefully, it will find it's way to the junkyard crusher soon.

Congrats on the ride, i like them. im sure she is thrilled

Where do you keep all of your rides? ;)

Holy shit! I hope all those repairs were warranty work! I knew that mercedes is not the most dependable car, but never thought it would be this bad. This is even worse then any Range Rover stories. Dude. Well, GLK is defenetely OFF my list, besides my wife only wants new X3.
