What is a good product to follow Menzerna IP after removing swirls. And what type of pad would be good for this. Using a Flex 340. What speed would you use also? Have a black Mitsubishi Outlander 2007.
Outlander - Are you really using Menzerna PO91E Intensive Polish ? I never see any of that particular polish around, just asking.. Are you using a Flex 3401VRG Random Orbital ? Do you have experience using it ? Thinking that the paint would be on the medium to soft side, if you are just removing swirls, you should be ok with a number of pads, Phil's Uber-Green, (less cut), Orange, (more cut), or in Lake Country pads, their white (less cut), or orange ( more cut).. The cut of Menz PO91E is 3.3 out of 5, and a gloss of 3 out of 5. The next Menz Polish compound would be PO203s which has a cut of 3.5 out of 5, and a gloss of 3.8 out of 5. I always run a Random Orbital wide open to get as much rotation as possible, to help break down the polishing compound. You will need to find a spot and do a test with different pads, polishes, if possible to find the best combination for that paint, and supplies that day. Good luck with this, let us know how its going, ok ? DanF
Thanks alot. Yes, you can buy IP. I have recieved the Flex for Christmas. I must say it has more kick than my Porter Cable. And it gets the job done much faster. But as I use it I'am getting the feel for it
I agree with these two.^ As far as I've read and experienced, Superfinish is the old po106fa which finishes the same as po85rd, but contains more of the same abrasive for more cut.
I use the IP as well, but with a rotary. It's my "middle" polish. I always finish up with PO87MC. I really like using the PO91E with an LC white CCS pad and the PO87MC with an LC black CCS pad. Spread on at 1-1.25, work in at 2-2.25 and finish off at 1. (again, with a rotary)
