Jay Leno needs a new detailer.

I have always love Jay Leno, he is a great funny guy and a car guy to boot. I love his web site and he has some awesome video's on it that are well worth watching. I happened to be watching the one on the Porsche GT2 and could NOT believe the buffer trails/holograms down the side of the red Porsche GT2. What a shame. Jay definitely needs a better detailer. I don't know if the dealer detailed the car or if it is actually Jays car but whoever buffed this car out should be ashamed. It is towards the end of the video when he is driving it.

It's just like when you see the car auction shows on Discovery Channel. Priceless cars, but full of swirls, holograms and spider webbing.

To some, it's all about the car, not necessarily about 100% perfect paint. And I respect that. Just don't agree with it...

 

PS: I say Porsche the way Jay Leno says it, and I love it!

 

It's a shame to see a nice car like that with F'd up paint!

He does have an awesome garage though!

I know, what an awesome car, I could only imagine how beautiful it would look if that red was polished out perfect. It would look like a red pool of water. Red really looks nice when it is polished correctly.

Since I cannot drive my Z06 right now I am spending a couple hours on each panel (vette paint is very hard) jeweling the paint in an effort to try to get it 100% perfect. I love how it looks a mile deep when it is polished right. :woot:

 

Hahahahah I think my favorite quote from that clip is when jay leno says "those are carbon fiber brakes right?" and the Porsche guys says "yep"

 

Incredible garage and collection...shame he has no one to take good care of his vehicles :shrug:

ive yet seen anyone were i live have cars with out swirls.. even my friends who are allways waxing there trucks and cleaning them like crazy have tons of swirls and dont really care about them . they dont even know what a swirl is :yikes:

 

That must be a 911 TT with a GT3 wing, the GT3's don't have the side 'gills' in front of the rear arches

Sad state of the paint though thats for sure

 

It is a GT2...the rear drive only turbo

 

the gt2 is much much much better than a gt3 or gt3rs..it is 200k.gt3rs is about 140..gt3 and gt3rs are Naturally aspirated and the gt2 is an upgraded version of the 911 turbo..a 911 turbo is significantly faster than a gt3 and gt3rs but only in a straight line on the track the gt3/rs wins.. it has much better handling and the rs is even better. the gt2 is like a 911 turbo with gt3rs handeling..it's the ultimate Porsche. besides a carrera gt of course. just a pure track car that can easily be driven on the road.. but why..you can go fast all day on a track.

 

Jay needs some polish, and a DA polisher.:giggle:

 

Ironically, I was on that same road earlier this week (it cuts across from the 101 to the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu). It's a GREAT road and is a favorite for photo shoots and videos like this. Not sure when the vid was made, but as the GT2s are pretty rare and this one has the dealer plates on it, my hunch is it might be the one that was at the LA Auto show when the car debuted last year.

The car also looks good in white--I saw a white one in that general area last week.

 

i'm going to write him a letter and offer to detail one car for free in hopes of getting his business. my wife told me to do it a long time ago since he is local to me. i just never thought he would have a car in such bad shape. now i know he needs educating. i will put on my cape and rescue those cars!!
