Thanks for posting that. When I was reading about the Lotus effect, I was thinking, hmmm...that would be cool for the car.
Nanothechnology = self cleaning and scratch 'resistant' coatings. I belive this technology will make other auto protection products for glass, paint and upholsteryunecessary, if not obsolete They are already used in EU to ensure traffic signs are (self) clean without the need for cleaning type maintenace
Yes ,actually in europe the nanocoatings is start to get very famous.. personally im using the nanotechnology by nanolex im very happy with the product is top quality highly durable and it is extreme hydrophobic.. i notice that after treatment the surface gloss is from outer space!!!!hehehe for more info: (Nanolex | Nanolex Home) :thumb::thumb::thumb:
Just watched Aquartz video. How durable is it? Also, I think on the site it says there is no need to wax the car, so I just wonder how does the finish compare visually to a waxed car?
They claim 3 years durability. The finish compares to a polymer sealent (i.e. Menzerna, Zaino, Duragloss, etc) I prefer a 'waxed' look (very subjective) so I apply a wax as an LSP and as a sacrificial protection against bird excremant
so are you saying that the nanolex is not bird lime proof ? A wax topping will stop the nanolex from working will it not??
Actually the nanolex is bird lime proof but with some limitations as other manufactures., if you aply wax on top of nanolex is not going to stop or make any damage to the coating . if you covered a nanolex'd surface with wax your not destroyed but you only cover it!! in a nanolex'd surface the wax cannot bond with the the surface and after 1-2 washers the wax is going to be stript off!!(IMO ) PS: also if aquartz is forum sponsor how did they not post a subject about there products??:shead:
[Dried on insect remains and bird excrements will not cause immediate damage to paintwork] Nanolex To my knowledge there is no available wax/sealent/coating that can provide protection against the acids and heat / moisture reactivity from bird excrement. [in a nanolex'd surface the wax cannot bond with the the surface and after 1-2 washers the wax is going to be stript off!!] XFS That's why its called a 'sacrrificial wax' PS: I am not here to defend or promote Auartz. I just post unbiased information to enable readers to make a choice
I'm in the process of writing a tech article on Nanolex, as soon as I've finished my research I'll post my findings It is my understanding that Nanolex will NOT ship to the states. Although they share similar technology they are different... to be continued
