I have client that just wrapped his car in matte white vinyl and is looking for some tips on washing it. I have never had to deal with this finish so am looking for some insight.
Swissvax Opaque shampoo is the only one I know of that is made for matte finishes, I know chemical guys has a matte detailing spray also, not sure about a shampoo
Here's a company that wraps may different categories of vehicles recommendations: http://www.cliffdigital.com/specs/cliff_digital_car_wrap_care.pdf P.S. I am not affiliated with them in any way.
I would think CG Citrus WashClear would be alright because it contains no gloss enhancers.... But don't quote me on that
Meguiar's has come up with this video (of course pushing their products):
Two products for matte are available, Swissvax Opaque products and CG has Meticulous Matte Shampoo and QD. I have also used CG Clear Seal QD for years on matte paint and vinyl with great results.
Scholl Concepts do a NoGloss range too. http://www.schollconcepts.com/endco..._content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=70&lang=en
Most washes should work, Adams, CG citrus or max suds, Meguires hyper or lusso will all be fine. You can also use most neutral color wax. I use lusso oro on matte vinyl and it works very nice.
Stay with the swisswax soap ken In my opinion that's the best stuff for the vinyl. I have had many clients with matte black and white cars that I have waxed the wrap for. Even tho the stuff is expensive you know its that good.
I know the thread's topic is washing matte finishes, but I found this the other night and find it interesting (please scroll to the bottom of the page): http://cquartz.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59:cquartz&catid=41 Looks to me that there is a wee bit more sheen to the matte. Do not understand how this would not change the shine of the matte finish.
