So over the summer some of you may remember the thread where i was asking advise on should i stay at a fairly new shop and keep detailing or move to construction where i would have more stability. well i went the construction route and detailed part time. Well the bottom fell out of the construction industry around here. Still needing more stability i took a job at the unemployment office. Yes i actually work there. Well since i went down to part time detailing the shop had to hire a full time guy to replace me. Well they really dont need me very often so i decided to start detailing a bit on my own. It was then that i realized i dont have a the products and tools i am use to. So with Christmas upon us its time to make a list of stuff i cant go without. I have all the basic tools and products that are needed but i would like to broaden my horizons. So throw up some suggestions of tools or products you cant go without. A few categories where i have yet to find a product i am in love with are -Interior protection -Waxes both long lasting and best look (i just started messing with collinite) what i am looking for is those products or tools that you may only use for a second but you use them on every detail. I figure this tread would also be helpful for a new detailer to see what is needed. -
I like to use collinite 845 for a long lasting wax and 303 Aerospace proctant for interior, exterior and engine proection.
For interior protection, we offer a few that are water based. AG Vinyl and Rubber care, 303, Werkstat Prot, Poorboys Natural Look Dressing and GI TRV. As for LSPs, keep it simple for now. Collinite 845 is a great choice. It goes on and off very easy. It looks great on any colour and it has great durability ( 4-5 months per coat) For darker colours, you could top with a carnauba Victoria Red or Poorboys Nattys Blue to add some depth.
