    The Culprit: 2002 Kia Rio
    The Offense: Being Filthy

One if the worst cars I have done. Not the topper, but damn near close.
Got a call from the client wanting me to come out and give an estimate on his Kia Rio. He said it was in pretty bad shape, and that was an understatement. I almost turned it down... sooo close, but I wanted a challenge. (Plus I hate leaving money on the table)
The exterior was chalky and faded out very bad. No reflection or shine to be found. A deal was struck for the exterior: Just bring back some of the shine. Not a detail, just knock off the oxidation.
So for that, I broke out the rotary and a wool pad with ......... Megs #66.:giggle: To my surprise, it brought the paint back nicely. Not up to standards by far, but it brought back a shine and the client liked it. SO I stopped there.

The Interior, well, where to start. Pet hair EVERYWHERE. My allergies started bothering me after this detail.... It looked like a cat exploded in the car leaving nothing but hair. Nice globs of hair.
Tobacco everywhere, along with various unknown sticky goo. Rubber gloves were a must.

Here is a nice few before shots:

So my plan of attack was to remove the seats. It was a necessity.

Half and half of one mat. (Only extracted) I had to go back and re do them all, this time with the pressure washer.

I spent too much time on the interior, and the results were as good as I could get them. The plastics were work down and spotty looking. Everything looked uneven, even the dressing didn't make it look good, but a nice improvement.

The seats were awful. I had to go back and re-do them. The stains wicked back up, and I was ticked.

The only exterior shots I have loaded up are the wheel shots:

I could have easily spent another 10-12 hours on that thing.

Another funny thing. After I got paid, I asked if he knew anyone wanting to buy a truck....... he bought my truck... LOL Said he can now sell the Kia, now that it is cleaned up. Haha

Wow, truly flabbergasted. However, you really did an amazing job turning that vehicle around. It really was disgusting and I don't see how ANYONE could drive that car in that condition. :gross:

I don't know either, but like said before, my extractor and vac got a work out like none other. I sneeze just looking at all those pics.

If this wasnt the topper, i would love to see it! I cant imagine seeing anything worse than that. You really did well, this should generate even more great word of mouth advertising for you...plus hell i think you might be the first i have ever heard that landed a detail and sold a truck with the same person in the same day..now that is talent!

Unbelievable turnaround. I'm with you though. I would have done it just for the challenge. As for the seats, if the stains wick back up when they dry, mist some interior cleaner on them and lightly wipe with a MF. This will clean the top fibres of the seat and leave it looking clean without having to break out the extractor again. That was one nasty looking interior though. Great job!

Disgusting oh my word...I can't believe people actually drive around in something so filthy !

Great job though, I am sure the owner was well pleased with your work ;)

One quick question, where do you get those paper floor mats from, a regular printing shop ?

Great job on that interior! I would've never taken that job if I was in the business that you were in. That was such a disgrace! Imagine what their house looks like.

Yes, I would have said NO to that one! Unbelievably filthy, but a nice save! I guessed it was a Kia, for some reason, people treat those like absolutely shit. Probably because they're supercheap and lose their value faster than a Dutch whore loses her inhibitions on a Friday night...
