WTF is going on? Gas prices are consistently going up. It's $4.49 for effing premium, takes more then $100 to fill up my X5. And what what I can see they are not going down, by end of the year they might hit $5 for a fucking gallon. Pisses me off. Seems like tree huggers are willing to go far to sell more hybrids, and want to "encourage" people to buy efficient cars, yet want to make up the difference you are gonna save in fuel. We seriously need to start digging and invest in our future instead of giving away $2 billion to south America and have us "make it up" at the pump. Current administration is robbing the nation. WTF is going on? ...end of rant...
It took me 57 dollars to fill up my MK4! I'm not done with school and I'm still on unemployment. I just don't know where I can squeeze this money for gas within our budget, we are already living so tight week to week. Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
My truck is $145 for a full tank. But I work from home. And when I travel somewhere, I bill the fuel back to the company. BOOM!
TDI costs MUCH MORE to begin with. Jetta starts @ $17k, diesel starts @ 24k. I checked VW inventory and most of them are $28k-30k. That's EXPENSIVE. And dielsel fuel is $0.50 more expensive...It's just not worth it...A Honda Civic/Toyota Corolla will cost about the same in fuel yet are MUCH LESS expensive to begin with...Thanks for replying to this thread though... So would I...But they are not cheap...
You guys don't have sooo bad, I'm actually doing my dad's tax income and it's coming up to $12.5K in fuel per year. He drives a dodge caravan 3.3L but we use it for everything, grocery runs, family trips and his day job as a courier.
Actually, a regular VW Golf with the small four cylinder engine gets great mileage as well and you can get those for less than $10K.
largest reserves of (cheaply drill'able) oil are in Iran and Saudi Arabia Libya's contribution to the US/western pillage of oil isnt that grand in the overall scheme of things what you guys are feeling is more to do with the (lack of) purchasing power of your dollar as it is being continually devalued
nah it's a gti, still gets good mpg that can actually move diesel here is more expensive than 93, plus the TDI is around the same price as a GTI, not saving much.
Your L to gallons is wrong Its 3.78L, so its $5.30. Premiums more like $5.70. Still some crazy prices here... We are getting raped by taxes on fuel. I believe its 50% of the cost once its factored out.
