It is not about what we have it is what we are going to do with it! If everyone of us looks at himself he will find that he has more than he NEEDS. We want more but it doesn't mean we need it...
this is how I look at life...

Nice house, and all the houses in that subdivision are supposed to be awesome. But the builder is asking way too much money, $68 million for 30,000 sq ft even in Alpine is several times the actual value. But it makes for some genious marketing as the asking price is one of the highest in the country.

I drive past the entrance to the subdivision every day on the way to work and they have a security guard there during work hours, protecting the entrance so nobody can even actually see the houses.

Dave knows what I'm talking about, he lives right near this house/subdivison as well. The security is a fat bastard who just stands outside the entrance all day long.

if you are directing this post to me ... I was just joking. I'm blessed with what I have and the things that I haven't lost in this economy. Like everyone else I was doing really good before this economy took a dump. I manage to stay afloat by not following the trend of buying a house 'cause it was "the cool thing to do". God has blessed me with a beautiful wife and daughter. I can't thank God enough for providing for us during these tough times.

I'm really sarcastic and the forum people that I have met can vouch for that. But they are also sarcastic bastards that probably won't admit to this ... lol

I know several people who have toured the house including my mother who is a real estate agent for prominent properties/sothebys .... They all agree it is worth every dollar of $68mil. The attention to detail and amenities are beyond most of the $100mil valued homes in America.

This is a home for billionaires not millionaires and the buyers in that league have the pockets to pay 68mil... There also the ones who only want the rarest and best amenities in a home, things you and I would never want or need...

For example this home has a fire suppression system that can put out a fire in any room in seconds. Now if you are a potential buyer with millions of dollars in art, having such a system to protect your items in the event of a fire is worth paying for.

Land and bricks alone don't make this house $68mil:thumb:

The house looks incredible, and more power to whoever can afford to purchase it, but in my opinion it's just too much house for me. I wouldn't know what to do with myself. I feel like there would be rooms I would never enter, and the money I would have to shell out to purchase the extra space would probably be better placed in investments. If houses are your thing and you have the purchasing power, by all means go for it. I just prefer smaller homes that are more manageable and personal. I think I'm going to have my own house designed and built when the time comes, I like modern styling over the aristocratic elegance effect.
