Anyone here used one of these yet for detailing? I picked one up recently but haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. At 12x14 feet, I think most vehicles should fit underneath. E-Z Up 12 x 14 ft. Escort Instant Shelter Model# 46824111
It's got some weight to it. But it does have a set of wheels so you can "wheel" it around and it folds up and takes very little space. When I get it up I'll snap some pix and post them here.
Please take some pictures of like a car parked in the center, and how much clearance is on the sides. Like a direct on side shot, and direct front or back shot. I'm interested in their size because I'm picking one up soon. Thanks bro!
No rush, I'm on vacation till the 20th but it would be nice to buy one the day I get back and not have to worry about picking a size. BTW, let me know how easy it is to get it up by yourself.
it should be very roomy, i have this structure in my backyard thats 13ft wide and there is plenty of room
I tried to get this thing up today as my neighbor wanted her car washed. So I figured why not see how this bad boy works. Not long after the pix were taken, a heavy thunderstorm had rolled through. I was checking the weather all day online, and it wasn't supposed to start until night time, well it started earlier. High wind gusts were kicking up and started moving the canopy. This thing has some weight, but it was not enough. The car was still underneath and I was outside in the rain trying to keep it from hitting the car. A strong wind gust picked up one of the corners and started the bending of the frame. I was standing in the middle underneath it and holding on to what framing I could to keep it from flying around my driveway, and into the car. The canopy put up a great fight, but lost to mother nature. Overall, I think it is an excellent canopy. I will be swapping this out for another one. The metal framing was painted nicely and there were no visible sharp edges to rub against the canopy cover. I really didn't expect it to last as long as it did in the storm. Overall I give it a 10/10. It actually exceeded my quality expectations, and it folds up to a tiny footprint. Nice design! Enjoy!
Man that's a good price. I'm going to KMart tomorrow to pick one up. Always weigh down (or stake) any canopy like this at the legs with something. We use these at the racetrack all the time, and I can't tell you the number of times a storm has come through, wind has gotten under one, and it takes off. It's like a parachute after all.
*UPDATE* Picked up a "replacement" canopy and plan on getting some detailing time in next weekend, So I'll be glad to post some more pix.
