Its been a while since I've been out and about on detailing forums - finishing up a PhD takes pretty much all the time you have away from you!! Thought folk might like to see a few pics from a recent trip to France where I went with my better half and a couple of friends - much needed rest and relaxation Just recently back from my first proper holiday in three years - driving holiday to the Dordogne region of the south of France, so I thought I'd share some pics Would put in photo section, but its not really professional pictures stylee, just some fun pics Went with Sophie, my better half, and a couple of friends from St Andrews - 4 up plus luggage in the S60 was a tight squeeze!! Took two full day's driving to get there from sunny Scotland - London on day one, and then to France on day to and 600+ miles of driving down the autoroutes to near Agen (Bordeaux and down a wee bit more!) where we were staying... poor Volvo looked a bit fly splatted after that: But the views were stunning from where we were staying - beautiful countryside! Spent first couple of days chilling after the drive, taking some random pics from around where we were staying... I loved the driving roads... narrow, yes, but cracking views and open with nothing but a bloody big ditch either side should you run out of talent.... Found a really pleasant dessert wine at this chateau (Monbazillac) - if sweet dessert wines are your thing, its well worth a taste, we brought a couple of cases home Lots of little towns near by to visit... Eymet was one (token car shot ) Duras... We got some cracking thunder storms... Sophie and I braving the weather... A few more pics in nice evening light from where we were staying... Got a chance to wash the car...:lol: before Soph nicked the camera... Went to a market in Isigeac... Picnic by a lake... More fun driving... Getting arty with the flowers in the garden after a thunderstorm.... Had this really nice red wine with dinner one night... So went to find the town of St Emillion - my favourite day, a truly stunning little town Climbed this tower... Then climbed this one (after lunch :lol ... Striking a pose - or trying to, at least  Sophie was better at it... Sophie and me... One of Sophie's pics (she's better with the camera than me!)... And another thunder storm!... Also got some pics with Sophie's compact camera... Monbazillac: Bordeaux: Nice food Parc en Ciel - Park in the sky... essentially running around trees on rope bridges and zip wires etc, looks a lot of fun, I admit that as someone who is scared of heights, I didn't go on, but Sophie enjoyed it!... And finally, Bergerac... It was a fantastic holiday - very nice to get away, relax, and take a step back from a lot of things, and put a lot of things (and their relative importance or lack thereof...) into perspective: I need to go on holiday more often! Cracking part of the world too, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday in beautiful countryside

Fantastic shots Dave, thanks for posting. I was supposed to be in Paris and Cannes in a few weeks, but alas, I broke my foot and had to cancel my trip. Jealousy strikes when I see these pics!
