Too Many Cars: Ever wonder what happens after they're built but before they're sold? http://autos.aol.com/article/car-n...-news/cars-exploding-inventories/20090330002 When or if you are thinking about purchasing a new vehicle, always look in the drivers jamb at the manufactured date (i.e.2.09 ) this will indicate how long its been since manufacture.
That's pretty interesting. A good tip I got was to find out the VIN number of the car so it kinda gives you a vague idea when it was manufactured. So if you know its very old, you might want to ask for another vehicle. Hope that also helps.

This post has been extremely helpful. I'm in the process of buying a 2009 Legacy GT 5MT and the dealer found me a car. I made sure to ask them for the manufactured date for the vehicle. The car was made 2/09 with dealer plastic still on the car.
