Hey guys, I'm just wondering what are some good songs to listen to while you are detailing your car. We all know that detailing can be very time consuming, but there is no reason why we can't make it entertaining, right? I have a CD player that I play while I'm cleaning my car, the problem with that is I mostly have rap songs on that, and some times there are kids playing outside, as they get amazed by the foam being launched from my foam gun, they hear "F*** THA POLICE!" so I end up changing the song or turning the music off completely. I'm looking for like those "paradise" songs that just make every stress in the world just go away, I personally think they'll be soothing and make me more efficient in my work as appose to Lil Wayne saying "You can get your baby kidnapped and your baby mother f***ed". So what do you guys listen to when you detail? I really liked this song, but unfortunately I don't know what its called so I can't find it.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40MnbE2mPw8
I like the Doobie Brothers, upbeat stuff, I cant listen to music when correcting but for interior detailing and everything else in the garage its great!
I'm not sure about "paradise" songs, but I do have the same problem with kids stopping by while I'm playing music that has...less then appropriate lyrics. Some bands that I like to relax to are City and Colour, Owl City, and The Airborne Toxic Event. All of them have really mellow and relaxing music IMO. I'd check them out, Owly city is among my favorites out of everything. If I can't listen to rap I usually switch over to something like Cobra Starship, Theory of a Deadman, Shiny Toy Guns, or Hit the Lights. But I'd rather stick with my rap.
I have the earphones that are the earmuff style, to block out the drone of the makita (which is very bad for your hearing), and my ipod in my pocket. Some that get played alot: jack johnson buckcherry black crowes george winston (solo pianist) john mayer dave matthews brad paisley metallica guns n roses linkin park sick puppies Really all depends on my mood. I really like heavier stuff for compounding, and the lighter stuff when I'm finish polishing. But that's just me
i guess it just depends. some details I listen to music, some i dont. zeppelin once in a while, but mostly "alternative" and heavy stuff. manson, nin, mudvayne, rollins, jesu, godflesh, clutch, everclear, poison the well, rosetta.
slipknot mudvayne blackdahlia murder slayer deftones posion the well all that remains shai hulud Lamb of god etc my neighbors dont like my taste in music
MUSE is awesome i have like 4 of their albums on one playlist, hit shuffle and detail away. Other than that my ipod is completely populated by lil wayne lol edit: some of my favorite muse songs include: Thoughts of a Dying Atheist Muscle Museum Falling Away With You Supermassive Black Hole Hysteria ehh who am i kidding all their songs r my favorite. but those about are some good ones to check out in case u want to sample them
I just normally listen to the radio. I think earphones would be a good solution so you don't have to change your style of music and at the same time you'll help protect your hearing while polishing.
Ferry Corsten Countdown mixes. Great for detailing, if you like that vocal trance/trance beats. Also the Armin van Buuren mixes are great. Pal van Dyk, almost forgot him.
Can't really say that's there's any particular, it's more a mood thing. I love smooth jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Old Skool House, some Funk, but I would highly go with anything from the 80's to mid 90's. Sorry man but there's not much in terms of 'real' or 'good' music these days. Music of yerteryear, evoked emotion and I remember some good times back in the days.
Depending on my mood, most days talk/sports radio. Then other times Ill tho a cd in, not much on FM, and to cheap for satellite I have over 1,200 cd's so my taste if off the charts. I can listen to anything from Too Short(Todd Shaw) to Hank Williams Sr & Jr. Some that come to mine: 1)Danzig 2)Nirvanna 3)Pearl Jam 4)Snoopdog 5)Tupac > R.I.P. My Nigga :drinking2: 6)Outcast 7)Patsy Cline 8)Elvis 9)Stevie Ray Vaughn 10)Zepplin Never cared much for The Beatles....Weird :duh:
I'm not one to listen to music while I'm actually detailing. However, after finishing up on a car that took days of polishing I like to listen to "Theme de Camille" Anyone who has seen the movie Casino has heard this song.
Yep, have a radio station (local) that plays smooth jazz, with old R&B (Earth, Wind, and Fire, etc.) , and some 80's & 90's thrown in, that I listen to. Especially good for a late night claying session.
