Detailer's Domain: 2001 Porsche Boxster S

I want to say that when I met up with this customer he didn't think that I could do much to the car. The car was bought new with under 8k logged on it since its purchase in 2001.

What was done -
Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash and washed down
- Wheel wells were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Paint inspected and measured
- Wheel Wells were cleaned and dressed with Adam's Undercarriage Spray
- Tires dressed with Swissvax Pneu
- Rear cab window was cleaned up
- Masking
- 3 Step Paint correction (Meguiars M105 with an Uber Yellow, Menzerna Super Intensive Polish with an Uber Green and Menzerna PO85RD with an Uber Blue)
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Last Step - Menzerna Power Lock / Topped with Lusso Oro
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned

Great job as always Phil!!! The transformation is mind-blowing! I'm very curious to know what the customer's reaction was especially when he thought that there's nothing that can be done to revive the paint.

I always love your detailed picture sequencing that shows what is being done in each step. The paint looks like glass and the reflections of the sky are amazing!!!

 

Wow thats an amazing transformation. Nice work. The 1Z Plastick cleaner you used on the back window, after you clean it do you have to put something on it to keep it from going back to what it was? Is it something that you use every wash to maintain it or do you just put a wax/sealant on it? Thanks in advance, and once again NICE work

 

dang phil. i was just about to ask everyone what to use on those types of convertible back windows. You answered my question . . . . . . but how do you apply it?

you know I just cleaned it up with the deep cleaner and it worked well.

the car was 9 years old and the window was never taken care of I believe it may get cloudy again but over time.

Phil, what did the owner say when he picked up the car? Also, were the 50/50 shots after M105, SIP and 85RD?

 

i had a customer with a window similar to that a few days ago and for the life of me i couldn't get it as clean as i wanted to.

Did you use a DA or anything like that or was just just a microfiber and the 1z product?

I need to add that to my arsenal!

 

the owner was a bit speechless which freaked me out.

Amazing turn-around. I dunno how I missed this one. The black looks spectacular. Sooner or later I have to try the Power Lock and Lusso combo.

How long did it take to do this detail? You applied the Power Lock, and the Lusso, did you wait for each of them to cure before doing the final rinse and wipe?

The car looks amazing.

 

I left Power Lock on for about an hour prior to Lusso.

This one took about 15 hours or so

 

lusso looks awesome on black, and with power lock underneath it has durability too (which lusso lacks on its own)

im seriously thinking of buying the P21S TAW

i know dawn works well, but i just cant bring myself to using it to remove LSPs

would simply spraying the TAW on the car with its own trigger bottle be enough to break down a carnauba LSP, or do i need to use the foam gun?

 

you can spritz it on the car and then wash it off, but you do realize in most cases after this, clay, polishing your carnauba should be off the car.
