This light, overpowered roadster came to us in DESPERATE need for a correction. Weighing in at 2900 lbs with driver and 3/4 tank of gas, it's needless to say this car is a blast. With that said, it needed to look just as good as it's time slips will be, which are yet to be obtained. So hopefully my foot isn't in my mouth for this one!

This turbo monster was showing it's age and use in the paint, and definitely needed to be revived to show that deep pearl yellow paint. The Carbon fiber hood also needed to be brought back to life, for the time being until it is painted to match. I will let the pictures and process do the rest of the talking here!

    Products used:

    Meguiars M105
    Meguiars M205
    Menzerna SIP
    IPA 30%
    Sonus green clay
    Ironx
    CG wheel cleaner
    CG citrus wash
    Autoglym HD wax
    Optibond(tire dressing)
Poorboys bold and bright (tire dressing)
    303 convertible top cleaner
    Poorboys natural look
    Sprayway window cleaner

Process: Car was rinsed and sprayed with zep solution, rinsed couple minutes later and washed, then clayed, rinsed again, sprayed with ironx and rinsed again couple minutes later. Ironx removed metal that was under surface that clay was not able to remove. Car was washed again and dried. Wheels were cleaned. After inspecting paint and seeing the damage that was there we got ok to do one-step polish on it. Hood was buffed before what looks like with rotary and wool pad which left a lot of buffer trails. Test panel was done with menz SIP and it removed all defects. Tried same combo on paint and there was a lot of scratches left. Did pass with M105 and it removed 80% of scratches. After finishing pass with M205 surface looked very wet and paint got its depth back being metallic yellow color. Since it was only supposed to be one step, car received quick pass with M105 and PFW pad which removed about 80% of scratches. Some areas were polished to about 95% scratch free (trunk especially). Fenders were damaged more and did extra pass with M105 (car was partially repainted). After quick compounding car was polished with M205, wiped down with IPA and waxed with Autoglym HD wax. After removing wax car had very deep wet look to it and was very sleek to touch. Tires were dressed, windows cleaned and interior vacuumed and wiped down with PB natural look. Car looks a lot better then it did before.

That looks great after your polishing!
And what a beast it is, wonder if they are planning a brake upgrade to go with all the extra ponies?

yeah brakes are first think i noticed that need to be addressed. i got 4 piston brakes for mine that im sure he could use it for his car as well, car is a beast, drove it back to owner and boost was lowered to 15psi at the time but still was making 415whp. i did couple 6 gear pulls and it got to speed pretty fast.
in my defense. customer is friend of ours and told us to try the car but only on straits because its useless in first 3 gears and it was pretty cold so tires would not grip good anyway

I really like the 50/50's and car has a nice gloss to it now. If I can ask what was your Zep spray and wash solution? Tires have a nice sheen to them. What do think of Optibond?

I have a 2008 tripple black. I bought the car from a guy who didn't take great car of the paint and have similar scratches and swirl marks on her... This spring when our winter breaks i'm going to do the same type of job.

Mish are you sure the yellow paint is Metallic? I saw a couple of them fly by me and the paint looked non metallic to me.. Just curious..

    Good Job on the 2000...
