A good friend of mine owns a detail shop in Las Vegas Nevada and recently did a paint correction detail on this brand new 2009 Corvette ZR-1, this car beat the GTR around the ring and makes over 600hp! I really love this color, and thought I would share his detail with you fellow car and detail enthusiasts.

    This was the detail....

He took some before pictures, the car was not too bad just dirty. The paint needed some minor correction to bring out its true potential.

That was before shots, now heres the after

The car was corrected using Gloss It polishes and the cyclo polisher. the LSP combo was something that I have recently started using and have been super pleased with. It was nice to see how it looked on this car though...bit nicer than a 15 year old white MR2 I did a few days ago!

This car was hand polished after machine correction with a finishing polish called Concourso Polish, it has no cut I believe and its purpose is only enhance the finish just before LSP. The LSP was not a wax however but a sealant:confused:

After: The metallic paint really jumped off the car.

thanks for sharing! I've experienced firsthand how fast an '09 Z06 is by watching it blow by me at my HPDE...I can't even imagine how fast that ZR-1 is!

ditto on all the compliments, the car looks stunning. how did you find the glossit polish worked on that very hard clearcoat? what pad did you use? pc or rotary? sorry for all the questions but i own a vet and as you know the clear is very hard, so i'm looking for some input, thanks in advance.

I did not detail this car, as I said a friend of mine worked on this one at his detail shop in Vegas. I asked about the CC of this Vette and he said he was able to get 100% correction out of it using a cyclo random orbital and a mild- agressive polish called Evolution Cut, granted the car just had some regular bad dealer prep on it. I use the gloss it polishes on Mercedes ceramiclear coats all the time and they cut very well, same deal with rock hard Audi's too.

this is the second ZR-1 detail i've seen. and the same colors.

as i've said before; Im not into Corvettes, but the ZR-1 has really made me a convert..... such an aggressive styling they did with the rear and the vents in the fenders... very pronounced than the Z06.

    excellent job!
