This is a new client I have, sent to me by a mechanic I've sent work to and am now doing work for from time to time. The mechanic works on everything Italian and the CS is his friends. He also has a blue 550 I will be working on later this week. He did not want to go full out with the CS, and there was no need to. A single step was able to get it pretty good. I did not take any before pictures because it was pretty clean, I did take pics of the swirls and sun shots. The only before pics I took were of the interior which I did not get after shots of. I first started with the interior which is all alcantara. I purchased the alcantara foam cleaner from DD but did not get it in time, I will be back to clean a little piece on the dash that had a sticker on it. Vacuumed everything, used a damp mf (just water) to clean some of the spots out off the seats and worked good. The rubber matts were cleaned with 1Z vinyl rubber care and then topped with 1Z cockpit premium. Plastic knobs and such were just dressed with CP. Carbon fiber door panels were washed with ONR and waxed with BFWD, the center console was waxed as well. Exterior was washed with Dawn, rinsed, foamed with Detailers Pride extreme foam. I use the foam as a lubricant for the clay which I used the white Megs, and the blue clay magic. After all clayed, I rinsed it all down and washed again with 1Z Perls. Onced I finished with that, I dried the car with Big Blue WW's and turned my shop vac around and used it to blow the remaining water out of the cracks. Polishing was done with the 3401 and SIP. I used a white LC to remove the swirls. I was having a bit of a problem with that and other combos. I used a harder pad at first(green uber) and it was too aggressive and left micro marring, then I used the white LC and same, then I went down to a green LC and it was not correcting enough. I know I was backwards in my steps by going with harder first but usually I don't have this problem with the green uber and 360's. I finally used the LC white with almost no pressure other than the weight of the machine and it did what I needed it to. After all the polishing was finished, I brought the car back outside and foamed it down with the previous DP Extreme Foam. I let this sit on the car for as long as it takes to smoke a cig, and then rinsed off. I have found this does a great job of removing the oils left from polishing. Once I rinsed, I rewashed with the Perls shampoo and dried with big blue ww's and again with the vacuum to blow out the cracks and crevices. Once dried, I waxed with BFWD, applied to the whole car and then taken off. I don't use a machine for this, just a foam app. Onto the pictures, Deck lid swirls Rear fender I belive this is the drivers door Hood These are the after of the one step Deck lid Driver fender Sun shots In this one you can slightly see some scracthes to the left of the sun on the fender. They were not taken care of because I do not do wetsanding....yet, maybe one day I'll grow the balls to sand someones car down. Not today though! Here is the one before interior pic And this one was just for fun
Great job it looks amazing that one step polishing left it really nice, I absolutely love Blackfire Wet Diamond it leaves the the finish super slick and smooth and application is a breeze. I have two coats on my black mustang gt and it still looks great after two months and it still beads great.
Thanks everyone, yes I have come to really like WD. Nice product I can put on and remove pretty quick and get a great look and longevity out of it. I'm more of a carnauba fan but I do like WD.
