seen somebody discused it but just want to ask again here is specs what they mean by ±4 digits on 0 to 7.8 mils? if true measuement is 4 for example, does it means it will read anywhere from 3.6 to 4.4? ±7 digits on 0 to 199 μm? and if measurment is 150 then it will read from 143 to 157? * Measurement Range - 0-40 mils/0-1000 μm * Accuracy - ±4 digits on 0 to 7.8 mils * ±7 digits on 0 to 199 μm * ±(3% + 4 digits) on 7.9 - 40 mils (200 - 1000 μm) * Temperature Coefficient - ±0.1% of reading change in accuracy per degree change in ambient operating temperature above 82.4° F or below 64.4° F * Response Time - 1 second * Battery Requirement - 9V * Calibration Plate - 2? diameter steel disc .0445 Thick * Gauge Controls - Calibration, Up-arrow, Down-arrow, Back Light, and mils/um * Weight (with battery) - 4.7 oz.
As you mentioned, the measurements will be within + or - 4 and 7 digits respectively. Generally speaking I think all PTG's are only accurate to within a few percentage points (1-3% IIRC) :thumb:
