So the word is that this phone is coming exclusively to Verizon in the fall, maybe October. It is a touchscreen phone that will compete with the iPhone. Probably it will be bigger than a Curve and the keyboard completely touchscreen. Just wondering if BB lovers who have Verizon would get this phone. Personally, I like the size of the Curve and hate touchscreen keyboards. I mean, have you ever tried to type on an iphone? It is a pain in the a**.
I'm going to check it ut when it's available, but am really not sure about it. I have an 8830 now, so the size won't be a big deal for me, but I really like the BB hard keyboard. It's what makes them so great! Touchscreens are bad for me because I spend the entire time cleaning the figerprints off of the screen. Every time I type anything it will "need" to be cleaned again. Dirty screens drive me crazy!
I have the Verizon Pearl now and love it, BB performance in a tiny phone! I got it when there was only the the World edition available and the curve wasnt out yet . I think the new touchscreen BB for VZW is called the Bold though, could be wrong.
I think it should have the slideout hard keyboard like the voyager. I have tried the iPhone keyboard and I hated it guess my hands are just to big.
I still have a Blackberry 7100r, the predecessor to the Pearl. Phone works awesome, it has buttons big enough you can type quickly with one hand and it has the scroll wheel on the side. Love it. I was thinking about a Curve but won't get rid of mine until a Blackberry can download as fast as the iPhone.
Good point! I hate dirty screens The Bold is a different phone with buttons. It was scheduled to come out this month, but Verizon is pushing it back until after the Thunder/Storm. It might actually be a year until Verizon gets this phone as it seems that AT&T will have exclusive rights to the Bold for the first year.
I talked to my buddy that works there and he suggested I wait for this particular phone even though I can get a new one this month. He suggested I wait until Black Friday, hehe.
It's the Blackberry Storm now. :yippie: I think I might get it since I just finished a 2 year plan. We'll see how much it cost during black firday :applause2:
Yes, it is called the Storm now. It sucks that is it a Verizone exclusive, but I don't know if I would want to switch from my Blackberry Curve.
