Hi All, I've been wondering what the best paint cleaner or paint cleanser would be? I'm aware that most All-In-One Products are quite good as acting as a paint cleanser. For example, Klasse All-In-One or Optimum Poli-Seal, however I was wondering if there is such a thing as the "best or most effective" paint cleanser on the market. So something that only cleans the paint, doesn't polish and does not any protection what so ever. The only ones I've been able to find are: 1Z Einszett Extra Paint Cleaner Compound (16.9oz) Victoria Deep Cleanse (16oz) Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion (16oz) SONAX Nano Paint Cleaner (16.9oz) SONAX Premium Class Paint Cleaner (8.5oz) Victoria Deep Cleanse (16oz) P21s Paintwork Cleansing Lotion Lusso Oro (something) WBW Surface Cleanse Zymol HD Cleanse (And even among this list), I'm not sure if they're all cleaner only or cleaner/polishes and or cleaner/waxes. So to clarify, I'm looking for a recommendation among the list provided or another chemical I have not named that would be a Paint Cleaner or Paint Cleanser only that has no polishing or protection abilities. And after the paint cleanser, does the paint cleaning agent need to be removed with any body shop solvent or body shop prepping agent or IPA solution to make sure the clear coat is as prepped as possible for the Wax or Sealant or the surface is "ready to go" after the paint cleanse step. Thanks
I love the Sonax Nano Paint cleaner but it does leave some Carnauba wax protection behind. No problem for me. The protection it leaves does not compromise the addition of a wax you might add. I haven't tried placing a sealant over it but I used Natty's blue over it and both the side that had been cleaned with Nano Paint Cleaner only as well as the test area that I IPA sprayed for testing still bead the same.
i like Clearkote RMG/VMG mixed 1:1 its the wettest cleaner/glaze ive used so far, and believe me i have them all lol
I've used DG 652 with great results but it has a very fine abrasive in it. I have also tried the pinnacle stuff and it also works very well but I noticed that the paint really needs to be pretty clean for it to work it's magic. I would love to try sonax and 1Z but lately I've been loving Amigo. I guess I've noticed that with paint cleaners there is quite a range of how agressive they can be, something with a fine abrasive can actually do some light polishing / jeweling work with the right pad combo where something like a pinnacle is super gentle and will leave the paint squeaky clean but it really needs to be free of surface contaminants first. Not sure where all the options mentioned so far sit on this scale. As far as I understand it the purpose of a cleaner is to prep the paint for accepting wax or sealant so I clean and go right to LSP, no IPA or any "cleaning" of the cleaner. Oh, and add P21s Paintwork Cleanser to the list, I've used it but that was a long time ago. No abrasive and not compatible with sealants AFAIK.
I cannot recommend Lusso Revitalising Creme as it is very hard to work with although it does give great results. If I were to select a product from your list, it would be Victoria Deep Cleanse just for ease of use and results alone.
I like lusso rc. Black pad, porter cable. It was one of the only cleansers that I thought made a visible difference.
I think I'll giving the Sonax Premium Class Paint Cleaner a try in the coming weeks. Would anyone ever use a product like this or other paint cleansers after polishing to remove all the polishing oils and such? I know its usually used after a clay bar treatment to remove chemical stains or imperfections in the paint before polishing but was curious if anyone uses it after.
i use it to help remove and polish hazing, generally when I have been too lazy to change my mf towels enough, it works. Most of the time i will use an AIO to help remove the oils and then use the wax
