here's my dilemma. i've started to accumulate some "nicer" products and waxes, which i have no problem using on my higher end paying customers vehicles, but i'm looking to pick up a good wax for the "regular" type jobs. i'm looking for something reasonably priced, that works well with most all colors/paints, and has good durability. suggestions? i'm kind of embarrassed to say this but i've been using Megs Tech paste wax on "regular" type jobs, and i dont like it very much. i was thinking about Lusso maybe? possibly CG XXX or petes 53. i just cant justify using my real nice products on every single job i do...

I'd just go with Collinite. 845 for ease, 915 for a little better longevity. You can find both for under 30 bucks. 845 is usually 15, and you can apply it very thin with a PC 7424. I have Lusso (thanks Pete) but haven't tried it yet.

yeah i was considering the collinite also. i forgot to include it in my original post. i hear a lot of good things about it.

I will recommend 845 simply for the fact that that it looks good (not great, there are better ones out there, but you know that and they should be reserved for beautiful cars) and beads for a LONG time. I would think an "average" customer would be very impressed by it.

    Plus it's a breeze to apply/remove.

I would also vote for 845, however, if you're wanting to buy in bulk, I think you should consider Meg's #21. It looks good on dark colors (fillers help this), last a while, and when purchased in a 64 oz. container, it runs $.58 cents per oz. Since you can only buy 845 by the 16 oz. bottle, it'll run you $.94 cents per oz.

Overall though, I like 845 better.

What about 476, is it any good ?

476 is 845 in paste form. Said to be more durable, but application is more difficult. I have a tin, but haven't opened it yet.

I've not used 476 (want to try it though), but from what I've read, it's not as user-friendly as 845. It's GREAT for protection...lasts a long time. But, it can be hard to remove if applied to thick or is allowed to sit on the surface too long. Plus, being a paste it's harder to use on a DA like liquid waxes/sealants.

If you only work on your own cars of maybe a couple others, 476 would probably be a good option, but if you work on a lot of cars, 845 would probably be better served since its a little quicker to apply/remove.

Not saying you are wrong, but I've NEVER heard that statement or seen any proof that your statement is true.

I don't think I've heard it either, but I would think that it is. 476s smells almost the same as 845, and the color is almost the same as well. The major difference is ease of use, 476 can be a pain, 845 is usually pretty easy.

I would reccommend 845 for an "all-purpose" wax.

OK I'm in the minority here but I would suggest Pete's 53. I love this wax and use it just for the purpose you are looking at. It looks great on all colors, is a breeze to work with, and if you like beading, it certainly will not let you down.

wow a page on collnite.. ok i know the stuff rocks and not just for the price but i would have to say victoria.. it isn't super expensive and gives awesome looks from everyone who tries it they love it.. and it is easy to use hand or app.. i have never tried it but i trust nica and so many others on here that have.. if not just go with the collnite.. no point in putting crystal rock usd wax on a honda civic.. and if they ask just say "NO NO NO!!!!" "collnite for you and you should be happy your getting that!!!" lol

but just from looking at victoria it looks like a breeze to use!!! if i wasn't such a swissvax junkie i would go for it but this is my hobby only.. i don't have a new customer every day or 2 to try it on. good luck!!!!

I haven't used Collinite just yet, so I can't comment on it...but I have used Victoria wax and they are great waxes. Bang for your money, it's hard to beat.

If your looking for a everyday use wax, I would recommend Victoria.

i was just doing some research on victoria last night. i came across one of your threads in regards to it. looks like good stuff for the price. can you make a more specific recommendation from their line to suit the type of use i have described? and should i buy direct or could you suggest a place i could pick some up?

im planning on trying out the Collinite no matter what. i want to try a couple different things to find something i want to stick with. i bounce around too much. right now its between Petes 53, one of the Victoria line, and the CG XXX (its pretty cheap). shoot maybe ill pick up all three...

good all around waxes, collinite 845 and fk1000hp, although not a wax in true sense of the word, more wax/sealant, but very inexpensive, lasts a long time and looks amazing, also fk's pink wax just as inexpensive. all under 20 US.

Well I was most impressed with Victoria Concours Red Carnauba Wax, I enjoy the yellow version as well but I find the Red version gives the most glow..but again just my :2cents:

As to where to get it from, I know Chris (eShine) caries Victoria but I can't remember if there is a Victoria store in the US. Here is eShines link:

    eShine Canada: ***Victoria Wax***

You could always check the main Victoria web site to see if they do have a store in the US, just to make it easier with the shipping that's all.
