    Guys, i need your guidance, how to properly waxing a car, cause i can see a bit smear on my car if using Collinite 915, Autoglym HD wax. I already put some QD on my applicator and i tried to apply it as thin as possible. I have tried circular motion and one way motion, but still a bit smear.
    Really appreciate your help.
    Cheers,

    Try moistening your applicator pad with water, ring it out good and apply wax. Work in sections.

    Are you doing this by hand or machine?

    2x what flash said, dont use a QD, just get the applicator a little damn. I have a misting bottled filled with distilled water and I just spritz it a few times and apply the wax. Try not to load up the applicator with too much product or you could also get smearing.

    What I do is take an applicator pad, and take a section/panel on the car. I put some wax on the dry applicator pad and spread the wax around on the surface (I am not applying the wax, I'm just tapping different areas of the panel with it to spread it around). Then I start moving in circular motions but lightly, not applying too much pressure. After applying it, wipe it off with a microfiber and you're good to go.

    Thanks for the input, i will try it again with distilled water. I applying wax by hand. Cause i only have a rotary.

    @solidsnake
    i tried this way before, the result still smear. i applied the wax without any pressure. and always buff it with clean MF.
    I found that HD wax is got more potential smear than 915.

    Try letting the wax cure for a while before removing. The solvents may not have evaporated yet, causing your smearing.

    Doesn't wax need to haze / dry first before buffing?

    just throwing it out there. If the wowo method isn.t working, then try something different. Try the swipe test.

    i am by no means an expert. But i would guess that humid conditions would slow evaporation of the spreading agents (solvents). I could very well be wrong, just throwing a suggestion out there

    Your Absolutely right. High Humidity can cause havik on a paint job. :thud:

    This is certainaly something to think of especially when you have had success in the past with a product. and then 1 day it throws you for a loop :sos:

    With AG Hi Def wax, LET IT DRY. If you try to apply it and remove it right away it will smear. I've even applied it to an entire F350 before removing it with no issues. Try doing one side at a time. When you can run your finger through it and it doesn't streak it's ready to come off. Call or text me at 604.561.5121 if you have any more issues.

    Good suggestion...humidity plays a large role when dealing with carnaubas. I don't find this to be an issue with synthetics like 1Z Glanz.

    yeah, i think indonesia is a very humid country, i should let dry first, maybe if i applied in the evening, i would buff it next noon.
