Alternative Uses for nextzett Products

Here are some nextzett products and their alternative uses that you can use around the house. If you have any other ones, please feel free to share.


Cockpit Premium
* Clean computer, cell phones, TVs (except screens with anti-reflective coatings - mainly Plasmas) and other metal, plastic coated surfaces
* Wipe down clear coated furniture
* Wipe down metal trim and finished leather trim

Plastic Deep Cleaner
* Upholstery/carpet spot remover (do a color fast test first)
* Headliner spot remover (do a color fast test first)
* Clean grime, scuff marks, crayons from walls, baseboards, doors
* Remove stains from cabriolet tops
* Remove bitumen (tar) from body paint and wheels
* Remove wax and polish residue from plastic and rubber trim
* Pre-clean tires prior to applying a rubber treatment for better adhesion and for a more even finish


Vinyl-Rubber Extra (Improved version of Vinyl-Rubber Care and Protectant
* Apply on polycanvas tops to reduce fading from UV
* Apply on outdoor patio furniture to revive color and keep from getting brittle from sun
* Apply prior to polishing or waxing so any splatter will wipe off easily

W99
* Make a degreaser like Formula 409 replacement. 1-2 oz of W99 mixed with 16 oz of distilled water

Blitz
* Excellent as a laundry detergent even on sensitive fibers

No. 2 One Step Polish
* Remove scratches from CD's and DVD's and other clear plastic surfaces

 

Great tips there Michael, one thing to be aware the tip below,

If using on a TV dont use it on TV screen that have AR coatings or it will take it right off like AR coatings on plasma TVs. My understanding is that CP has some alcohols in it which will damage AR coating and on plasma TV the AR coating is very sensitive. LCD panels if a matte screen should be fine but the newer "shiny" screens you will want to be careful of also.


I will say that w99 makes a great degrease around the house and helped clean up a greasy grill up in no time.

This is true. When stating this tip, I had LCD screens in mind. Follow manufacturer's advice on cleaning. Generally you are safe with a slightly damp microfiber cloth.

You are cautioned from even using a mild soap cleaner when wiping down screens with ARC (anti-reflective coating). Definitely stay away from ammonia-based cleaners and other traditional household cleaners that may have aggressive cleaners.

 

would it work for lens on glasses? :shead:

 

I'm not an expert in eyeglass lens material but my first instinct would be 'no'. Reason being that if you did use the polish, you would immediately remove any anti-reflective coating and/or UV coating. So I would highly suggest that you don't use it in this case.

The kind of plastic used for CD's, headlights, guage clusters and windows used on race cars are lexan which is a type of polycarbonate.

Also, I would not suggest you use the polish on helmet lenses unless the manufacturer states that you can use a polishing abrasive on the surface to smooth out scratches. But if there's any kind of UV coating don't use it. Just a soft cloth and mild cleaner like Windscreen Clear.

 

Blitz as a laundry detergent?

Hey, Michael, why is Plastic Deep Cleaner not available in 10 liter refills anymore? Buying it in small bottles becomes too expensive...

I was thinking of using my Cockpit Premium to wipre down my LCD display at workt and my screen at home....

I know Michael posted initially against it, (i.e. plasma, which I wanted to use for also), but curious if the LCD's displays for computers may be adversely affected by Cockpit Premium. I imagine the screen would have some anit-glare coating... but I do not know for sure...

Anyone tried it before? I thought that you could use CP for navi screens in vehicles....

 

i've been using CP on all my LCDs inside the house. works beautifully!

on a side note, whats a good dilution for 1Z Blitz in a foam cannon?

 

Plastic Deep Cleaner on clear bras: no problem.

Cockpit on LCD screens or nav screens with the matte finish are no problem.

Not sure about Blitz in a foam cannon. I believe Phil might have the answer to this one.

 

I have used CP on headliners. Not to clean spots, but just dirty headliners. I saw some marks on mine and cleaned them up with CP and noticed how dirty my headliner was so I cleaned the rest of it. A few spritz on an MF and just wipe the headliner and it cleans it very well.
