How to remove the hard water spots on Audi A4/S4 (B8) Windshield Trim

This is a question I have gotten quite a bit in the last few months.

For me I have already replaced my trim on my car, however it still comes back.

Here is just one solution that I have found works well.

I used an IP wipe down to clean up the trim and followed it with Wolf's Nano Dressing which worked great, it gave a matte finish and its been about 5 days with no signs of hard water spots. I'll have to post back an update over the next few weeks to see how it goes but for now it got rid of the spots and looks to be a great solution.

Here are some before and after pics

Interesting, what did you use to repair the damage from the water spots before applying the dressing?

I just cleaned it up with the IP wipe down.

We should have more stock in next week.

Just a note the trim piece is plastic not rubber.

I hate how the NYer's and NJer's have to put the registration stickers on the front wind shield. Nice repair but I haven't seen much of that kind of damage around here.

Looking great, Phil! In addition to body wrap I already ordered Wheel sealant, glass sealant, and trim sealant.

How does this apply compared to black wow? If you get even a drop of black wow on your window it'll smear all over the place!

When it comes to plastic type trim of that nature, i buff that out the same as i would tailights, and then do ipa wipedown, and then seal.

Great info. Phil. Would anyone know how to get them off of your paint? I am having one hell of a time getting some spots off of the trunk of a Solstice. I have tried vinegar and a clay bar. No workie. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Have you tried any compounds or polishes like Megs or Menzerna with a DA?

I've been thinking about buying this. But how long does it last? Do you basically have to reapply it after every wash like you would with normal dressings?
