Cool pictures, love the colors :thumb:

35mm is a great lens, you should try a 24mm. I've been fooling around with my 24mm and it's a great leans :thumb:

    Keep the pictures coming

Nice pics Ben! What kind of 35 did you get exactly? Oh yeah, pretty nice bokeh. :)

Nothing's stopping your kids from going to college... they just can't sit in the lectures and get credit for their classes! :applause2:

they can always get a loan and pay for their education later. That's how it is in our family.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

    It's a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 DX prime lens.

911fanatic, this lens is only $200 + shipping at most places. That's why I've been pushing to get this exact lens for so long. It's just always been out of stock at most places. The last time it was in stock at B&H, it ran out of stock overnight, and I was ready to pull my hair out!

littlemissGTO, the range might be a bit short for you, but I'm sure you'll enjoy how easy it is to get sharp pictures with this lens. I'm ready to buy some filters for it later!

Nikku, this isn't really an expensive lens, and I'd gladly say it's even worthy investment for your detailing pictures. I'm going to leave this lens on the entire time this weekend when I work on an E46M.

When I picked up my SB600 I asked about this lens. The camera shop said it was back ordered and suggested I put my name on the list. 3 days later I got the call to come pick it up.:applause2:
I'm shooting a retirement party tomorrow so my plan is to use it for portraits. I think I'll be able to get some other really neat shots with it too. I picked up a UV filter when I picked up the lens. I think my next one is going to be a 70-300 then a 12-24 wide angle.

I got it at b&h photo.they are out of stock right now but I suggest waiting until it comes back. They go put of stock fast

If I recall correctly, you do have a 55-200mm so I would suggest a wide angle first. I have a tokina 12-24mm. It was the first kens I actually purhased and it is pretty great for landscape shooting.

if I may ask, how much are you guys getting the sb600 for? The sb800 which I am borrowing right now is a superior flash that had been discontinued. I'm sure you could find a good price for a used one around 300-350.

Btw Tom, you've got to slow down on these purhased haha

I purchased a 50mm f1.8 but have not really had much chance to use it since it is a telephoto. I should have purchased a 35mm (normal lens on cropped sensor).

me and my dad got prime 31mm lens from pentax and he takes control pics with it to see best quality when needed. and yeah lens costs $1300
