Yesterday P1et was complaining that the 26' Nordic I did didn't have any room for the ladies to lounge about and we can't be having that so I made a few calls this morning and lined up this 23' Malibu that I figured would be more to his liking. The boat and trailer were covered in road tar. I don't know how, but you'll see in the pics. Washed with PB Super Slick n' Suds Tires and wheels cleaned with AG Powermax2 Wheels received PB Wheel Sealant and tires got Blue Dew Tire Dressing Road tar removed with AG Intensive Tar Remover LSP today was Colli 915 Boat Wax Interior Vinyl cleaned with AG Powermax2 and dressed with 303 Total time - 7 hours (its my Bday so I had an easy day) Road tar Bugs All the stuff on the fender that looks like road tar...is! Water spots on dash. Luckily it was fresh water and just wiped off. Seats weren't too bad but a few in the back where people got in looked like this. This is what happens when you go too fast loading your boat! Even more road tar. Removing all the tar was as simple as spraying AG Intensive Tar Remover onto a MF and wipe off. Great product. All done! When I do boats I wax as much of the hull as I can reach. Today that meant going back to the carpeted runners. Even the tower, speaker pods and lighting pods got some Colli. There you go P1et - room to lounge. Room for even more ladies in the back Room for lots of drinks for the ladies The owner is going to put one of these in the garage for me to do tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
Great job on the boats. I use to do them back in the day, the last one I did and was the reason I stopped was a St. Topez, Welcraft. I believe that was the model, but it was 40 foot and that just made realize enough was enough with boats.
I know what you mean with boats. For me, if its not near mint (no fading gelcoat) or over 30' I wont do it. its just not worth it.
when they get that big you have the big cabin on top to do, all the extra teak and stainless. Its almost like you spend more time cleaning the deck area then the sides and bottom of the boat.
OH MAN OH MAN! First of all, happy birthday! Second of all, NICE DETAIL, that chrome is looking top top top! Third of all, now that's a BOAT where you can take the ladies out and show them a good time! This guy knew what he was doing, I LOVE IT!
Actually, after working on both boats, this Malibu is a way nicer built boat than the Nordic. The fit and finish are fantastic on this. The Nordic was a bit of a ....well, lets just say not as nice and leave it at that.
Three wheels on the trailer for a boat that size seems like overkill to me. But that aside, that's one sweet arse boat! And one hell of a detail my friend!! Like Rustbucket said, the depth after the wax was fantascic. I'm very impressed with the ease of the tar removal by the AG Intensive Tar Remover! My wife drives up and down a major interstate here in central Texas every day to & from work in our white '06 A4 and it's constantly getting nailed by tar. The AG ITR may be my missing link. Thanks for an awesome post!!
