2008 Pontiac G8 Phantom Black Metallic 150,000+ miles I had a previous client who is a Holden/Pontiac aficionado. He just picked up a Pontiac G8, same car sold in Australia as the Holden Commodore, as his daily driver. The car has over 150,000 miles on it, was kept outside all of its life, and has NEVER seen anything other than a swirl-o-matic drive thru car wash since it was purchased new. The car was purchased from the original owner and it was properly maintained mechanically, just not cosmetically. My client wanted to see what I could do in order to bring the paint back to life. He was going to wrap it if ‘nothing could be done’. I informed him to wait until I look at it before he decides to wrap it! Upon receiving the car…it was beat! I mean just neglected. Swirl city, scratches, marring, hazy dead lifeless paint, and it had a door that was repainted at some point with what looked to be a branch off of a tree!!! You could not even see a hint of the metallic that was in this paint. I got to work!!! Gear: Flex 3401 for compounding cutting 1” and 2” pneumatic machines for the small/tight areas 15mm long through for final polishing GG6 for sealant application Misc foam cutting, polishing pads. Misc MF cutting pads, wool pads. 3D HD Cut M101 was used for the really bad areas (with both wool and MF cut pads) 3D HD Polish Blackfire Wet Diamond all finish paint protection-LSP Nano sponge medium for claying Mother DS for clay lube Adam’s VRT for tire dressing Adam’s glass cleaner Misc microfiber towels Car Pro eraser for wipe down prior to LSP New formula Pinnacle leather conditioner for seats Vacuumed via Metro I hope I haven’t missed anything! Upon completion the vehicle really looked great!!! Years were taken off of its appearance. The client came and picked it up and was BLOWN AWAY! He told me that his idea of wrapping the vehicle was now the furthest thing from his mind!!! I was extremely pleased to hear this as well as see how much in awe of his ‘new’ daily driver he was! He could not stop looking at it and looking at the door that was repainted; the one that now matched the finish on the rest of the car! We spoke about coatings and he will most likely be bringing this G8 back to me for an application of a ceramic coating later in the year/early next year. This one really made my day and I enjoyed working on it very much! Thanks for looking!!! DEFECTS: Pillars dull and lifeless: Mirror dull and lifeless:
