2008 Black Porsche Carrera S with just over 800 miles on it.

Client had the full hood and both front fenders done in clear bra, just a few weeks ago.

It had some light swirls and a few RIDS. No polishing of the clear bra area was done due to the recent install, so the goal was to get the rest of the paint perfect and apply some good protection

All foamed up with 2oz of CGCWC/1oz of Z7, the remained of the 32oz bottle filled with water:

I used AM red hot APC 1:6 on the tires and wells, along with a few brushes.

I rinsed everything off and refoamed the car.

I used P21S wheel cleaning gel on the wheels and various brushes. Here is a shot after scrubbing them down:

I washed the paint with a sheepshin mitt using the 2 bucket method.

Rinsed everything off including the wheels. I find that the wheels on cars like this Porsche and BMWs need a lot of rinsing. To ensure that there is no dirty water left to drip on the clean wheel barrels.

Here was the best pic I could get of the slight defects:

I checked the thickness of the paint with my Defelsko Positest DFT Combo. The roof was in the 4-4.5mil range and the other panels in the 5.7-6.2mil range.

I first tried to one step the paint with:

    Ultrafina/3M blue 8" pad/Flex 3403 at 1700.

That worked ok, but would not get out the deep rids.

    So I went with:

    Presta 1500/Blue edge light cut wool pad/Flex 3403 1500
    Ultrafina/3M blue 8" pad/Flex 3403 at 1700.

    This did the trick.

My picture taking of the 50/50 polishing did not come out so well, so I had to tweek them to this extreme so that everything would show up.

I then took the car outside while we had some sun and checked the paint for holograms:

While I had some sun I got this pic of the defects on the roof:

So I brought the car back inside and polished the rest of it.

Had some more sun so I brought it back out and checked the right side, I had some slight holograms on the lower door area, so I spot polished that area with the 3M 6" blue pad.

After the polishing was done, I took the car back out and foamed it again with 3oz of Z7 carwash and the remainder of the 32oz bottle with water. I then did a sheepskin mitt wash to remove the polishing oils on the paint. This way zaino will have a clean surface to bond to. Dried the car off with some nice pakshak WW drying towels.

Took the car back inside and applied:

3x of 80% Z5pro/20% Z2pro and 4 drops of ZFX to the paint, clearbra and glass. Total mixed 3/4 of an oz.

Between coats of zaino curing, I applied ZAIO to the wheels.

Loosing the sun fast so I took these pics:

I brought the car back in and applied Z-16 to the wheels and Z8 to the paint, clear bra and glass.

    Well done vehicle looks good.

I'm curious, how did you end up with slight holograms on the lower door area, I've never used the Presta products but I'm just curious that's all.

Thank you for sharing with us, vehicle turned out great :thumb:

Does the clearshield bra actually make a diff? Can't see any line on your install?

    Thanks Jake!

    Thanks GTO!

Thanks Nica! I had to lay down on the ground to find them. I am sure the client was like "What the hell is wrong with this guy and why is he laying down on my driveway?" :shakehead: :)

Any polish and a wool pad is going to leave holograms. But maybe I just did not keep the pad flat enough when I went over the area with the 8" 3M blue pad and UF.

I really like the presta 1500 with the edge green wool pad, but in this case I just wanted to do enough to get the RIDS out. So the lighter cut blue pad did fine on this soft porsche clear.

Thanks Neil! They are beautiful automobiles!

    Thanks GBS!

The clearbra covers the entire hood and both front fenders all the way to the front of the doors. So no lines to see. It actually gives off more of an orange peel look, but still better then having the front all beat up as this is a daily driver.

    Thanks Lance!

    Thanks Angelo!
