This vehicle belongs to a friend of a friend, for the most part the vehicle was in good shape, just needed a minor paint correction and that’s exactly what we did. The vehicle:

    2007 Z06

The owner couldn’t make it to my garage :( so I packed everything up and over to his house I went  Here is the vehicle upon arrival:

A few bugs, hard to see because of the colour of the vehicle.

Rims looked to be in good shape as well.

    Well first up the rims:
Sprayed a healthy coat of Red P21S Gel

Here is Red P21S hard at work:

Wile I let the rims to soak with Red P21S Gel I sprayed Total Auto Wash on the wheel wells and agitated with a degraded Zymol sponge:

Then back to the rims with my EZ brush:

The face of the rims were agitated with a Zymol brush:

Tires received a coat of ARO and were scrubbed with a Meg’s tire brush, after all the scrubbing here is how the end results turned out:

This process was carried out to all the rims, tires and wheel wells. Now for the body of the vehicle, for this the two bucket method was used with a sea sponge:

This was a tag team effort, I washed the vehicle:
    The owner rinsed:

As soon as we were done washing the vehicle the vehicle was quickly put inside the garage to avoid water spots:
Quickly dried with micro fiber towels:

Before claying the vehicle, I noticed a few spots of tar, so out came Tardis and here is Tardis hard at work:

After Tardis was removed with a yellow micro fiber towel I clayed the vehicle with Riccardo yellow clay bar, for the most part the vehicle was in good shape and clay reflected that.

Now to take some paint gauge readings, vehicle has plenty of clear coat:

The owner was eager to get going so I gave him the task of polishing the exhaust tips:
    With Autosol of course:

    Vehicle was taped up:

The polish of choice on this vehicle is:
Menzerna Intensive Polish with a Menzerna Polishing foam pad with my Metabo.

I did my best to get a 50/50 picture of this colour but with the limited amount of light in this garage it was impossible to get a reasonable 50/50 picture. Here is what I mean:
From this picture I couldn’t tell where I polished, so I gave up..besides I was under heavy inspection by the owner

Instead I got some action picture:
Oh I’m using my M14 3M UK Backing Plate with my M14 to 5/8th adaptor. Why am I using the adaptor? I like having extra clearance between the foam pad and the rotary….just personal preference

Remember I said the owner was working on the rims, well here he is hard at work:

Here is me polishing the tail lights:

I removed the license plate and polished the area:

Once all the polishing was done it was followed up with a Menzerna Top Inspection wipe down. Followed up with:
I applied HD Cleanse Professional and owner wiped off :giggle: It got hot in his garage very quickly.

The LSP of choice was Vintage:

    Applied by hand :woo:

Regrettably at this point it was dark outside so I only got the following after pictures:

Tires were dressed with Optimum Tyre. Owner did a great job on the rims :thumb:

We also gave the interior a quick vacuum, wipe down, cleansed the leather and reconditioned:

Well that completes this detail oh and I found out why this vehicle had so much tar stuck to it, the day before we detailed it the owner took it to the track

Thank you Buddy, glad you enjoyed it :chest:

Glad you enjoyed it, I had fun detailing this vehicle. I wouldn't say I get stress...but it throws me off my regular routine when I have someone watching over my shoulder all the time....I don't mind it but I'm just not used to it. I enjoy having people around when I detail because I enjoy chit chatting with them..I'm a big :bla2: :bla2: :bla2: type of guy, once I start talking about detailing I just can't stop  best part, the owner really likes to take care of his vehicle so he was asking me bunch of questions and I didn't mind, I love questions :thumb:

HD Cleanse Pro seems to add a bit more then the regular HD Cleanse but that's just my opinion  As for the Red Gel, yes I'm very fortunate to have some...but no worries...soon enough all DB members will be able to join me on owning Red P21S Gel ;) All in due time.

Haha good to hear. What exactly do you mean by "add a bit more". I've never used HD cleanse before.

Carlos..great job on the 'vette! I love the yellow too. I've got a yellow Monte Carlo booked a few weeks from now. It's a few years old and is a dd (probably not like the vette) so I'm gonna use my valuguard system on it. I've never done a yellow car and I'm really looking forward to it! Way to put the owner to work too! The owner would be in charge of keeping a cold beer in my hand!!

Glad you enjoyed it, I can understand why people like these vehicles, nice lines and great performance :thumb:

Thank you all for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it :peace:

Yellow is a great colour...but it's hard to photograph..specially when you don't have the appropriate lighting...but the end results speak for them selves. Look forward to the detail richy  As for the beer, owner offered beer, food, beer...oh and more beer..but I'm not a big drinker my self...besides I'd feel bad drinking a beer wile I'm polishing lol..I did take a coke though :thumb:

    Glad you enjoyed it :peace:

Great work, Carlos! Looks like the owner really wanted to get back to the track the very next day, is that why he wanted to help out???
