Oh yes, another fire truck. This one was simple compared to the 2005 Rescue truck. The vehicle is a

2007 KenWorth Pumper Fire truck with an extended cab

This is another brand new vehicle that had been driven from the US to Canada. After just completing a full detail on the 2005 Rescue Fire Truck this Ken Worth was a walk in the park, this vehicle was to receive a wash only and the process went something like this.

First I had to get my CR filter set up again

With my filter reading 0PPM I was set to go.

As always I start all my details with the rims, tires and wheel wells and here is what I was up against
    [IMG]

I’m starting to develop a process for these fire trucks and got my self set up the following way
    [IMG]
From left to right, Meg’s APC, the new formula my friend “claimed” to be better then P21S Total Autowash, P21S Wheel Gell, Roll-Off, Various brushes and a bucket of water.

    First rinsed the entire truck
    [IMG]

Then proceeded to spray the wheel wells
    [IMG]

Then sprayed on the P21S Wheel Gel
    [IMG]

I let the Gel work it’s magic for a bit
    [IMG]

Went to work on the wheel wells with my long brush
    [IMG]

Once I was satisfied with the wheel wells I went back to the rims

With the help of my Swissol brush I agitated the rims
    [IMG]

    The rims well agitated
    [IMG]

Then proceeded to the tires, for the tires I used Roll-off.

This stuff is great just sprayed it on and it literally removes any grime on the tire
    [IMG]

Roll-off worked great but I wanted to make sure the tires were completely clean so I gave it a good scrub with my Meguiar’s brush
    [IMG]

Tires, rims and wheel wells scrubed
    [IMG]

now for the rinsing with Deionized water
    [IMG]

The rest of the tires received the same treatment
    [IMG]

Once all the tires, rims, wheel wells were done moved on to washing the rest of the vehicle. I washed the vehicle with the two bucket method, white and back ShMITT and used Meguiar’s Gold Class Shampoo.

Let the washing and rinsing begin:

One area at a time I made my way around the entire truck washing and rinsing as I went. Once the entire truck had been washed I gave it a complete rinse with Deionized water. After that it was time to dry it, again with the help of the large compressor the shop has I blew majority of the water off the vehicle and then finished it off with my Guzzler and Cobra Microfiber towels.

Once the entire truck had been dried off it was time to go back to dress the tires. For the tires I used Optimum Tire Shine.

That’s about it for process, like I said simple well perhaps not so simple. Now for before and after pictures:

Well that concludes this truck. Oh by the way this truck was done right after the 2005 one and my lovely wife was kind enough to snap pictures wile I worked away. Another thing I realized was that it’s tough getting good pictures with out proper lighting, so please excuse some blurry/out of focus pictures…I’m blaming it on the lighting hahahaha.

Hope you enjoy the detail and as always good/bad feed back is always welcome.

I bet if I was kneeling on the top of that truck in the same place you were at, I'd make it cave in lol

lol chief, thank you bro for the compliment. Yes sir, 4 fire trucks detailed so far. So far I've enjoyed all of them :D

Thank you for the compliment klumzypinoy, means a lot to me bro. The chrome is the best part on these vehicles, just love the transformation on it. Oh ARO is a wicked product, good thing I ordered more ;) because I'm going to be using it non stop from here on in. I'm lucky that I used to play lots of soccer, I say used to becuase I haven't had time to play soccer for the past few months now becuase of work, family and now detailing lol...but I'm not complaining I love detailing...it's my passion/ambition...I look forward to the weekend to do what I love most :D :D :D

Well it helps when your entire family is a soccer nut lol, every Friday and Saturday big family get togethers to either watch a soccer match or playing it lol. My wife has been very suportive/understanding of the detailing passion, she's getting hooked on t as well ;) she seen me work a few times now and shes getting familiar with the products and terminology. Perhaps one of these days she will be posting a detail of her own ;)...now that I'd like to see :D

Haha that's pretty cool..probably the only sport me and my family watched together was boxing. So, your wife is getting into it ey.. my gf said when she has her own car she'll always keep it nice and clean. She's the only one who keeps her mom and sister's cars clean! Hopefully I can get her hooked into washing the correct way, and slowly get her into detailing :). I'd like to see a detail post from your wife too, that will be really cool, and you can brag about her :D.

Nica, these details just blow my mind! I wouldn't know where to begin or where to start. And I'd be afraid that I would miss tons of bits.

    Hats off to you!

I'm actually getting faster at detailing these fire trucks, man you should have seen the first one I did hahahaha took me two days to do a simple wash hahahaha. This particular truck took me 7hrs. Not to bad but what really helps is having the CR Spotless System it makes drying really easy...that and I don't worry about any water spots too.

I thought the same way when I detailed my frist one but to be honest just treat them like a regular vehicle...size don't matter...did exactle the same as I would do a sport's car. Having done a few fire trucks now I realize that size don't make any difference, the bigger they are the better they look...it does take a bit longer then a regular vehicle.

Reading your fire truck post and looking at the pictures is always a treat.. I just love all the gadgets and meters and stuff. A couple of pictures (like the hood shot) looked like you did a lot more than a wash.

    Those wheels look fun.

So, do you have any more elbow grease left after that one?

FMINUS - Thank you bro, that's the beauti of these fire trucks they have so much metal that the end results are wicked.

MotorCity - Glad you enjoy it my friend, you know me and picture over load  So far I've only done a full polish on one fire truck and man polishing a full fire truck is wicked :wicked: lots and I mean lots of panels to do...took me three days to complete the fire truck. The tires, rims and wheel wells are wicked to detail :awesome: they totally make the fire trucks stand out. I've received big compliments from the owners (chiefs) so far I've done about five fire trucks and they have been impressed with all of them. I try to give it a little extra as I enjoy my self so much...man the guys there look at me funny when they see me a bunch of pictures...every time I do something I take my camera out and and snap a shot. The guys that work at the shop love the pictures though and are blown away by the end results.

You know, now after I do a fire truck I could do another one. The owners (my friend and business partner) now request interior and exterior...befor it was just an exterior ;)
