I had my work cut out with this vehicle:

    2005 Nissan Morano

The advantage I had was that the owner of the vehicle was away on holidays for about a week so I hat lots of time to complete this vehicle. Took my time and it turned out great.

First off I started by doing the interior. First I started by off vacuuming the entire interior. Once that was done I gave the vehicle a full interior wipe down with Meguiar’s APC mixed with water (1:1). Once the wipe down was completed I moved on to dressing the interior with Meg’s #40, here is what I was up against interior wise:

    After:

Entire interior dressed with Meg’s #40

Leather seats were first cleaned with a moist microfiber applicator and Lexol PH Leather Cleaner, here are some pictures during the leather cleaning:

Once all the leather was cleaned it was time for Lexol Leather Conditioner:

What I would do is spray it on the surface of the leather and then massage it in, let it sit for a few minuets and then wipe it off.

Here are some before and after of the interior:

Once the interior had been taken care off it was on to the engine bay, first I got my Deionized filter ready:

First thing I did was cover up sensitive areas of the engine bay. Then a quick rinse:

Followed up with P21S Total Auto Wash

    Then a nice scrub down

    After the scrub
    [IMG]

    A nice quick rinse
    [IMG]

Once the engine bay was completed I moved on to the wheel wells, rims and tires. For the wheel wheels I used P21S Total Auto Wash and agitated with my long reach brush:

For the rims I used P21S Wheel Gel and agitated with the help of my wool brushes:

To get behind the calipers I used the smaller wool brush

Once the inner part of the of rims were done I then Used my Swissol brush to agitate the face of the rims

For the tires I used Amazing Roll-Off and I agitated with my Meg’s tire brush

Wheel well, rim and tire all done and ready for a rinse

All the wheel wells, rims and tires were done this way. Once the rims were done moving on to the rest of the vehicle. For the exterior wash of the vehicle I used Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo with my black ShMITT. You’ll understand why I went with the back ShMITT shortly. Of course, with the two bucket method as well.

After the wash of the vehicle before I started to clay I gave the vehicle a quick inspection and this is what I saw:

The vehicle was covered in tar, majority being on the lower half of the vehicle.

Good thing I had a bottle of Tarminator, this stuff works wicked. So I sprayed it all over the vehicle:

I let the Tarminator work it’s magic and wile I let it sit I went to wash the carpet. I used Meg’s APC with a brush to agitate:

Once I had completely rinsed off Meg’s APC I then extracted the water with my Little Green Machin

This process was done for all the carpets, once I had finished all the carpets I went back to check on the tar and check this out

I was happy to see that, got my black ShMITT with a mix of Meg’s APC with water (1:1) and gave it a quick scrub. Majority of it came off, once majority of the tar had been taken care off I then started claying with my red Clay Magic. Took the bar and cut it into three peaces here is how the first and second peace of the bars look, luckily the third peace was saved.

Both peaces had to be tossed, this vehicle was covered in contaminants it was incredible. Once the claying had been done I gave the vehicle a quick wash again and then on to dry the vehicle. To dry the vehicle I used my new toy, Makita air compressor:

Compressor worked okay, the only draw back is that it’s too small and it looses pleasure fast, but overall it worked out just fine, I’ll get a larger unit shortly but for now this one will do just fine.

Finished drying the vehicle with my Dehydrator Drying towel
    [IMG]

Now for the fun part, inspection. Got my Sun Gun out and here is what I was up against:

The colour of the vehicle made it really though to capture the state the vehicle was in but overall it had lots of micro marring and a few holograms oh and not to mention a few scratches.

I taped the vehicle up and got my weapon of choice out
    [IMG]
I know that Nissan vehicle tend to have a nice soft clearcoat so I got my 106FA with Meg’s Finish pad out to see how well they would perform.

    Here are the results:

50/50 on the hood, you have to look really close at the picture. On the left side you’ll see some swirls/scratches and on the right side just flawless surface. This combo worked great so I proceeded to do the entire vehicle with this combo.

Here are some more 50/50 pictures:

    Passenger door

    Rear passenger light

Sorry for the pictures being so close but like I said the colour of this vehicle made it really difficult to capture the 50/50.

Once the entire vehicle had been completely polished I then proceeded to give it some protection. I went with one coat of Wolfgang Glaze and two coats (12hrs in between them) of Wolfgang Sealant. I also used Optimum Tire shine on the tires and wheel wells, engine bay got some Optimum Protectant Plus. The end result:

I was quite pleased with the end results of this vehicle, owners son came to pick it up and he was quite pleased with the results, so pleased that he would like to have me detail his Nissan truck too.

Like always feed back is always welcome.

    Nice work!

Was the interior really that bad?? IIRC 1:1 is really really strong! You can effectivly clean tires, and engines with 4:1!

Nica, great job. Get yourself some plastic razorblades, after getting the tar softened up, scrap off with the plastic razorblades instead of destroying your clay. The blades do not scratch the paint. I use them all the time for pinstriping and tar.

I can't believe how bad that vehicle was! The red clay looked like it had been dumped in black mud lol. That car was just insanely contaminated. Excellent write up like always Carlos. The vehicle looks so good in the afters. I notice the wheels looked clean in the before pictures with the exception of the inside of the wheels :p.

pirex, my home boy wadup bro!! lol...that's the rapper wana be in me lol. Glad you enjoyed it my friend I was quite pleased with the results. Oh the leather felt reall nice when I was done with it, I'm quite pleased with the Lexol product. Thank you for the feed back my friend.

Thank you Calgary, glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to stop by the owners office and ask him how he likes his car, I'd love to hear his feed back. His son that picked it up was quite impressed and asked if I would detail his Nissan truck :D wicked :D. Thank you for the compliment my friend, glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for the feed back richy, very much appretiated my friend. I'm glad you approve of it :D

At first when I looked at the interior it didn't look that bad but it had coffee stains, and regular water wasen't doing anythign to it, ended up using a 1:1 Meg's APC mix. To be honest it didn't feel that strong lol...not a good statement considering I'm not the one feeling it lol. 4:1 mix to clean engine bays? Now do you mean 4% water and 1% APC or do you mean 1% water and 4% Meg's APC? I'm used to the first number being the water

Yes sir, I've been looking for some plastic razorblades, but I haven't had much luck. Where do get your's from? I go through clay like crazy, this weekeng I went through about two to three bars lol tossing peases left right and centre here. Please let me kow where you get them from.

Glad you like it klumzy and thank you for the feed back. The vehicle needed some work to it but the end results were quite nice. The wheels, yea I noticed that too the face of the rims were quite clean but the inside were not, they actually didn't look that bad before I was done with them. Glad to hear you enjoyed the detail buddy.
