Just did this vehicle last week. The vehicle is a 2003 Volkswagon Passat. This Vehicle was booked in for an Interior Detail. No matter what the detail is I always start by fully washing the vehicle. I do this because when I clean out the door and truck jambs a small amount of water and dirt gets into the inside of the car. Hear is a few befores, These wheels did not look bad, but boy was the brake dust caked on. I tried P21s gel, AM non-acid wheel cleaner. I eventually had to settle with Mequiars WB diluted 4-1 to removed all the brake dust I washed the vehicle using the usual method. Hot pre soak, Hot pressure rinse, wash using AM Wash and Wax using 2BM follow by drying it with Dehydrator WW. Since this was an interior detail the majority of the pictures are of that. Befores door jambs were cleaned with Meguiars Super Degreaser and a Slide and Lock brush ://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu34/Detailnutz/P1010275.jpg[/IMG] During. I cleaned all the plastic surfaces using 1Z Cockpit premium, mequiars slide and lock brush and my air compressor. Next I cleaned all the leather with Lexol Leather cleaner with my secret applicator diped in hot water. Before finishing the leather I filled up my Mytee with water and let it heat up. After the water heating up I began extracting all the carpet after pre spraying everything with AM extractor solution (great product and it smells like lemon!) After the extracting was finished I protected all the vinyl with Poorboys natural look Following this I fed all the leather with Lexol Conditioner. Finally all the the interior and exterior glass was cleaned with sprayway and two micro fibers And hear is the finished product. remember those door jambs? This pic is a bit blurry. My appologies! My trademark, just to show that all the seams of the leather gets compleltly cleaned and conditioned. I was happy with the door, but those scuffs were actually scratched into the plastic. Too bad Everything neatly put back into the trunk Since the carpets were shampooed I left the vehicle overnight inside and put fans in it to dry. For just a wash and a dry, the exterior turned out well. Total time spent on this vehicle was 7 hours. If you made it this far without falling asleep thanks so much for looking!
Great write up. Really enjoyed it. I'm curious about the slide lock brush. Did you use the same type of brush for the vents and the jambs? That interior looks really clean. Very impresive.
Holy wow, nice job there man... but as a Passat owner im going to a smart ass here... Thats not a 2003!!. Thats a B5 anywhere between 1998-2001.5... 2002-2005.5 are B5.5, like mine if you were in Toronto, i woud only let you work on my Passat amazing clean up
Great job on that interior. I like how you do the jambs as well. As Zookie said, my 03 is a B5.5 as well.:shakehead:
Thanks! glad you enjoyed the write up. As for the slide and lock brush, I did not use the same brush for the interior and the jambs. The pressure washer in the bay I rent has 60 degree water coming out of it, so that removed most of the grease. I just use the slide and lock to make sure there is no dirt or grease left over. Haha your not being a smart ass. I just look at the owners manual to see what year it is, and the owners manual in that car said 2003. Maybe I will start using the vin to get the year of the vehicle. Thanks Ken, it always feels nice to have input from someone as experienced and you and so talented at what they do. My appologies again on the year mis-match. You guys just wont let anything get by me! haha. I loved that power finish so much I think i`m going to have to place another order with you :applause2: Thanks Supercharged and Ch40t1c for the input!
